NHL.com says 2 SOG for the Pens in the 2nd. They're already gotten that many in the 3rd. Sabres outshooting them 23-15.

sergei_is_still_a_wing 1 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 does anyone know how much tix for this game were (ballpark)? at the same time i would kill to be there because this doesn't happen often and its hockey at its best, it looks like you wouldn't be able to see much of anything from the seats. they're a good 60-70 feet or so from the ice. not saying it wouldn't be worth the money but i wonder how the view compares to a normal game. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 I think there's a problem with my feed for the game. All I keep hearing is "Sidney Crosby Sidney Crosby Sidney Crosby".
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 Who's this Crosby guy??? He's a hockey player: Handsome (read: marketable), talented, down-to-earth, good leader. Imagine a Canadian Henrik Zetterberg.
Guest Jeremy88 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 How many times are they going to show that puck control move by Crosby? He didn't even keep control of the puck, a Buffalo player stole it from him as soon as hit landed on the ice...
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 I totally understand the league's need to pump Sidney, but this is even getting annoying for me. If I had a nickle for every time they said his name today I'd be a millionaire, and I'm not even referring to gameplay.
Guest Jeremy88 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 Imagine a Canadian Henrik Zetterberg. Except Zetterberg is better

I'd have been dead from alcohol poisoning midway through the 1st. Oops, NBC broke the feed. Good job, guys!

auxlepli 17 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 Miracle was a Disney movie. Disney owns ABC and ESPN so it would've surprised me had NBC picked that movie to highlight. When Miracle came out, it was the only time I really saw ESPN get behind hockey. ESPN helped market Miracle to no end.

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 Did the crew resurface the ice during the third period halftime? Yep. A little strange, but it makes sense. Gives them more time to talk about Sid too.

akustyk 84 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) on a side note, by a hobby photographer http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.a...ventId=76074528 in rush hour they have like 10 minutes lag between the actual occurence and photo of it published and accessible for news agencies all over the world. this is: from taking a photograph to its publication on the web including detailed description (with particular players' names!). and we're talking of files having easily 20 MB each wow! simply wow! I'm not going to compare this to the ancient film days but even for digital age this is fast. and it's no wonder Getty has the edge in sports photo sales and yes, of course it says: Sidney Crosby all the way  Edited January 1, 2008 by akustyk
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 Dear NBC, Can you please do an in-depth player profile on Sidney Crosby? I don't know what size shoes he wears or what he prefers to do on a first date. Regards, NFM#25 Seriously though, its fine to pump Sidney but not at the total expense of the other 39 players out there.

akustyk 84 Report post Posted January 1, 2008 i want to see a shootout. i dont care what anyone says. its exciting. plus i wanna see as much hockey as humanly possible in this setting. with this snow covering ice surface it's going to be more of a "snow wiping" contest than actual shootout. Sid Crosby may even miss his goal in such condition and with all the marketing behind this game and his name, that's not the best way to end BTW: and they showed the puck carying move from 1st period once again :puke:
