Great find! It's really nice to see two goalies that most Red Wings fans love together at the all star game.

a lot of Red Wings fan's have an intense dislike of Legace now, including me.

Seriously? He left in not-so-good standing, but you aren't even happy for him and his success this season?

I'll answer this for him, no.

Manny didn't leave on bad terms. He chocked in the playoffs and after turning down a contract extension before the playoffs started, manny screwed himself over; thought he was worth more than he really is.

I'm glad he got a starting job, even if it is with the blues. I wouldn't want him back in Detroit though.

There are very few players I dislike. I hold no ill will toward players who've left for more money or different situations (these guys have families to think about!).

Manny choked in the playoffs, yeah, but the wings have had other players choke in the playoffs too.

I think the problem most people have with Manny had to do with his comments about that playoff performance.

Never the less, I wish him the best in St. Louis. He's a fine goaltender.

haha I love those two.

I really don't understand all the hate for manny. Yes he choked, but it's not like he wanted to. And Drake_Marcus had a good point, many players have choked for us in the playoffs. I just think because he was goalie he got more heat for it.

Nice interview. The Edmonton series was disappointing but Legace is a good guy and I have no ill will towards him.

P.S. Look at Babcock taking charge of the troops! When he was with Anaheim I thought maybe his intensity was a one trick pony but this guy has proven to be one of the elite coaches in this league.

I really loved those videos and loved watching both of them in the Skills comp. tonight!

I don't have a problem with Manny. I don't really want him back in Detroit, but he's a funny, great guy and I wish him the best in St. Louis.

The way I see it, we were 'upset' by Edmonton, but so were two other teams. They were one win away from a Stanley Cup. In no way, shape, or form is it all Manny's fault.

Would I want him backl? No.. But imo there will always be a place for former or current Wings with a positive attitude and great will.

I don't like him because he's too cocky for his own good considering he's never been able to do anything but play utterly and completely terrible hockey when it counts and furthermore, he's got explosive diarrhea of the mouth. He's one of the few people I truly dislike that have come through Detroit.

Can't say that I'm a huge fan of Legace, but obviously fans hold longer grudges than players do -- or at least they're mature enough to set it aside for a weekend and have some fun while garnering some publicity for the league.

Good clips, thanks for sharing. I thought it was hilarious when Babcock was hassling Thornton about his lack of a family at 28. Good stuff.

QFT.

I know part of being a fan is disliking the enemy or whatever else during a game or a playoff series, but to just flat out hate Legace is pretty silly and going a bit off the deep end.

Legace may go off the deep end sometimes as well with what he has said (i.e. I want to hang myself after the Edmonton series or some trash talk here and there) but there's no point letting that get you ticked off in the long run. In the grand scheme of things he's probably a down to earth good guy like everybody else.

I wish him all the best in St. Louis or wherever he might play after that.

Some of it was Manny's fault because he let in some soft goals, but the main problem was that we didn't score enough. Edmonton just outplayed us. There were only a couple guys who played well - Zetterburg and Robert Lang come to mind.

Granted, Manny crumbled under pressure. That said though, I don't dislike the guy. He's now on a team that is not under alot of pressure. St. Louis probably won't make the playoffs and if they do, they certainly aren't going to go far. So Manny can have his good regular season and it really doesn't bother me.

There's only a handful of guys that are hated.

Pronger

Giguerre

Thorton

Iginla

Sakic

Forsburg

Fedorov

I think Manny is still a great guy.

First of all, most guys we hate are usually elite players who are hated by fans of opposing teams.

I've never heard people hating 4th line players...

Second, your list is quite personal I think.

Pronger is the only one who'll get a 90 % hate-rate here on LGW.

But the rest of those names....nah...

Who hates Sakic ? He's one of the most respected players of the last decade...

Agreed. Pronger is the only on that list that most of us will most definitely agree with.

I love Sakic. Iginla is awesome. *except for his actions in the 07 playoff run* Thornton is awesome. Giguere is definitely likeable. Feds is someone I'd take back in a heartbeat. Forsberg is cool despite once being an Av. lol

Aren't Tootoo, Ruutu, and Niemenen 4th line players? There's plenty of other pests in the league that are 4th liners that people hate.

I think that's part of what makes an effective 4th liner. When we loved Maltby, everyone [else] hated him.
