umredwing11 2 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) Vokoun ?? Really ? Yea, really. Dates back to the 2004 playoffs in particular, him calling the wings "arrogant" and such. He's a great goalie, but in that instance he needed to keep his mouth shut. My hatred for him has dwindled a lot since then, especially since he no longer plays for the preds, but there aren't too many players in this league that i dont like and he is still one of them. I didn't know he called the Wings 'arrogant'. I guess the Wings were just very confident.. which is just a few inches away from 'arrogant'. It's all in the eye of the beholder I guess. DenJ91 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) i'm sorry i can't just go top 5 1. steve downie (dangerous player) 2. todd bertuzzi ((we all know what he did) 3. derrian hatcher (isn't good enough to be in this league anymore) 4. chris simon (another dangerous player, no talent) 5. sean avery (all around ahole) 6. bryce salvador (for breaking fedorov's nose years ago) 7. keith ballard (for giving fedorov a concussion 2 weeks ago) 8. jordan tootoo (if he wasn't a cheap player he wouldn't be in the league, little talent) 9. chris pronger (takes really nasty runs at people intending to hurt someone, ex: homer) 10. jarkko ruutu (nothing but dirty all the time and he honestly looks like he wants to kill someone) if the list was top 50, almost the whole flyers team would make it. yes i'm from philly. all time would probably be something like: 1. claude lemieux (no need to explain) 2. john leclair (should give all his money to eric lindros and michael renberg) 3. todd bertuzzi 4. jean sebastian giguere (anyone else think if they were as big and covered as much net as he does and use the size equipment he "did", they'd be a pretty good goalie too?, ok maybe not but still, the guy is overrated imo) 5. mario lemieux (i really feel he was given special treatment as far as physical contact went. watch games again, players rarely hit him, i'm sure i'm opening up a can here, but it's true) Edited February 4, 2008 by DenJ91
Shaman 713 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Pronger (cheap shot artist #1, ever watch him when yzerman was on the team? he'd go out of his way to try to injure him) Crosby (you ever watch anyone hit his holiness? he goes down and acts like he broke something) Iginla (Cheap shot artist #2, He'll do anything he can to win, cheap shots, butt ending with his stick, hit star players behind the play) TooToo (no need to explain) Thorton (See playoffs 2007)
jim3033 1 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) Neidermayer - the game 5 goal scorer with 7 men on the ice and 40 seconds left one Chris 'I'll hurt players if I have to and say I didn't' Pronger Ryan 'check out my facial hair it took 5 years to grow' Getzlaf Spinorama Grier Jarome 'you can't pway dat good its not fair we'll check you the whole game and win also I love Canada' Iginla BAD REFS! That was a hook? I didn't even have a stick! I know but if you did it would have been a hook so it was a hook. Edited February 4, 2008 by jim3033

People label him as the guy who could protect himself, unlike Gretzky.

People label him as the guy who could protect himself, unlike Gretzky. i'm talking about the last 5 years or so of mario's career, he was given special treatment, just as gretzky was. seemed there was some code where players said "let's not hit these guys too much". i'm not gonna say they are 2 of the best obviously, i just never saw other superstars like them get such treatment. look at jagr yesterday. komisarek was messing him up. i give jagr tons of credit seeing stuff like that. Earthhuman 8 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 and i am not not liking crosby more every day. Now this I don't get. Crosby comes attached with a massive hype machine, but he is still a great player, is not full of himself, and- come on- he's a kid. The only thing that would make him redeemable in your book would be saying, "No, no, it's all my teams doing, and the fans, thank you mom and dad, I did none of this, all 100 (?) goals and 200 (?) assists have been sheer luck, thank you everybody for accepting me." Then I ask myself, if Zetterberg were the great savior, rookie phenom, hype machine, how would he react? He would be insufferable. Thank god he's European and gets no hype. Now he can actually play. Crosby is handling himself fine and is a franchise player to boot. He has never cheap-shotted a Red Wing, and he has never decisively swung a game in favor of Pittsburg against us. Also, he was being hit and penalized unfairly in his first season, so the whining was exactly how most rookies would react. Is nobody else in the league more worthy of contempt? Look around a little. Earthhuman 8 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) Nobody ever rated Lemieux as a hitter, but he has been in a few fights. People label him as the guy who could protect himself, unlike Gretzky. You misunderstood, I think. He was saying players don't hit Lemeiux. And in response to that, I say that he was huge, so few could knock him off his feet. Plus, if a defenseman tried to hit him, they would look like a fool as he deked them out of their skates. He was very dangerous. Nobody hits Datsyuk. Nobody hits Jagr. Well, he got lazy and pouty- an easy target. Edited February 4, 2008 by Earthhuman

Look around a little. i agree with earthhuman, i just didn't wanna say it. haha. i can't believe there are this many crosby haters. i'm from the philly area, so it's understand here because the pens are a rival but elsewhere, crosby should be hailed and let's face it we need him desperately to keep hockey alive and hopefully more popular in the future. give him credit, he's the best overall player in the league. You know who else I don't like? Bryzgalov (sp? Give me credit for trying). He needs to learn how to lose gracefully, as in not punching Cleary in the face for swatting at the puck that was still in play. Should have been a penalty. Cleary got punched twice, slashed, then headlocked (three different players). No wonder his face is almost always bruised.
