daniel1 32 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 After that s***ty Kings/Wings 3rd period i couldn't help thinking how weird it would be to see Blake in a Wings jersey, there are just some players that will always be identified with "one" team as their team regardless of how many other teams they'll ever play for. Blake is one of those players; he'll always be a King to me. Which other players that may have moved around in their NHL career will always be thought of as a member of a certain team regardless of who they play for now or before? My list would definitely include: Shanny as a Wing Selanne as a Duck Forsberg as a Dinkalanche Messier as a Oiler McCarty as a Wing Schneider as a King Chelios as a Blackhawk Which other players and teams come to mind? b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 All of the previously mentioned, and for some reason, whenever I see Slava Kozlov in ATL I feel like its just a matter of time before he is back in the winged-wheel, so Kozlov as a Wing I guess, Jagr as a Penguin I think too
GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 Fedorov, Kozlov, Lapointe, Dandenault as Wings. Doug Gilmour as a Leaf Paul Coffey as an Oiler Marty McSorley as an Oiler Pronger as the Blues

b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 Kozlov gives me the feeling like when you borrow something to someone and then they keep borrowing it to their friends and you get pissed trying to track it down and get it back
daniel1 32 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 Kozlov gives me the feeling like when you borrow something to someone and then they keep borrowing it to their friends and you get pissed trying to track it down and get it back I get that same feeling whenever we play Chicago and I see Lapointe wasting his time with them. I'm always thinking "ok, you've gone abroad for a few years now it's time to come home and get a real job again."

That's the only one I'd argue so far. To me, Mess will always be a Ranger. He was always second fiddle to Gretzky in Edmonton. Even when Gretzky was traded, Mess was never the guy as he was in NY. I'll add these few... Potvin as a Leaf Ozzie as a Wing Dom as a Saber Lindros as a Flyer

Still MIGHTY 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 (edited) Kariya as a Mighty Duck It's too bad that I'll forever think of Paulina as a dirty, stinkin rat!!! They way he left us... broke my heart as a young Ducks fan... grrrr anyways Stevie Y - Wings Weight - Blues Messier - Rangers Gretzky - Oilers Hasek - Sabres Pronger - Blues (subject to change... if he stays a Duck long enough I'll keep him as a Duck) S. Niedermayer - Devils (ditto to Pronger's) Selanne - Ducks Khabibulin - Lightning Belfour - Blackhawks Leetch -Rangers Blake - Queen Forsberg - Avalanche Bertuzzi - Canuck Jagr - Penguin The list goes on... eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 I'm going to try and think of one active player for each team who, if possible, is no longer with that club. Ideally it will be a 'face of the franchise' type of player. Anaheim - Paul Kariya Atlanta - Ilya Kovalchuk Boston - Joe Thornton Buffalo - Dominik Hasek Calgary - Gary Roberts Chicago - Jeremy Roenick Colorado - Adam Foote Columbus - Rick Nash Dallas - Richard Matvichuk Detroit - Brendan Shanahan Edmonton - Ryan Smyth Florida - Roberto Luongo Los Angeles - Mattias Norstrom Minnesota - Manny Fernandez Montreal - Sheldon Souray Nashville - Tomas Vokoun New Jersey - Scott Niedermayer NY Islanders - Roman Hamrlik NY Rangers - Henrik Lundqvist Ottawa - Zdeno Chara Philadelphia - Rod Brind'Amour Pittsburgh - Mark Recchi St.Louis - Chris Pronger San Jose - Mike Rathje Tampa Bay - Pavel Kubina Toronto - Mats Sundin Vancouver - Ed Jovanovski Washington - Alexander Ovechkin

I'm always thinking "ok, you've gone abroad for a few years now it's time to come home and get a real job again." Regrettably for Lapointe, he really dues just suck now; his bad play is not a product of his team.

daniel1 32 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 Hull - Blues McCarty - Wing Shanahan - Wing Sammuelson - Tool LOL, that would be the "Coppenhagen Tools" I assume? As much as we pick on him, his bang-for-buck value is pretty good.
Fedorovfan 25 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 This is an endless list. If a player makes a name for himself on the first team he plays for than that's what I remember most. It's like in the NFL Joe Montana Chiefs? No! Joe Montana 49ers.
