I fear this becoming a goalie-debate war thread, but I'll take the risk as this was a pretty neat little article. Probably obvious and predictable for most, but good for a quick skim.

I think the wings definitely have the best 1-2 combo out there, but if this does get into a debate, let me go out and say that neither goalie has been playing their best hockey this past week (let alone the rest of the team), so keep recent stats out of it.

Did anyone else notice thr factual errors in that article?

Such as:

"In 1995-96, Osgood shared the Jennings Trophy for fewest goals allowed with Mike Vernon. Two seasons later, when Detroit won its first Stanley Cup in 42 years, he spent most of the postseason riding the bench while his partner won the playoff MVP award."

Because we all know 1996-97 is TWO seasons after 1995-96.

Or this one:

" Four years later -- two in New York and two in St. Louis -- Osgood signed with Detroit as a free agent following the lockout."

Except that Osgood spent one full season in NYI, split the next one between NYI and STL, and one more full season in STL...for a total of THREE seasons. He was unsigned by an NHL team for the lockout year.

I think what he meant was that we need to solidify our goalie situation, not necessarily bring in someone new. It just sounded stupid the way he said it.

They were the same folks that talked about how good sammy was whenever they stopped orgasming over any of the Ducks.

So if the two best goalies in the league aren't enough to win the cup this year (god forbid the lynchings on here) do we go out and get the 3rd best goalie in the offseason... or do we actually (god forbid) try to address the real issues at hand this offseason?
