Well, if there's any silver lining to this terrible start, it's that Jimmy Howard gets some ice time in about as low a pressure situation as he can expect.

Yeah, I didn't figure we'd even see Howard. I figured they'd start Ozzie every game. I'm still holding out hope that he's gonna be a great one. He needs NHL time and experience for that to happen.

Versus doubleheader!

We're getting the Ducks @ Avs too, they're going crazy from Teemu's return,Tuesday's not usually a broadcast day here.

That's why I'll always defend Versus. :P

 I guess the Ducks are good for something eh, getting Teemu back to play so you can watch more games!

I'm not too concerned about this slump. As has been said to death, slumps are nothign new to any team. Even if we lose tonight it's not the end of the world. In all probability, as someone said earlier, Babcock probably had his foot on the gas too much this season. They're way ahead in the standings, the team doesn't feel the need to stick it out for every game anymore.

That could hurt or help, depending. Once teams start to catch up they'll wake up.

As for the goalies: No, Toskala is not that great, and Giguere is only good in the playoffs. All goalies in this generation (with the exception of maybe Luongo) or streaky.

Not to mention that lacking a defense usually hurts even the best goalies.

Osgood has played well lately, and has been beaten to death, the Anaheim game was stolen from him by bad reffing. Hasek has gone from dead last in the rankings to first? How can he be bad then?

The Wings just need to get back on the same page, get their cohesion back.

Really, I think it's time for Babcock to experiment with lines before the playoffs. Bring up more of the minor leaguers to see who "clicks" with the current lines so we know who we can fall back on in the playoffs.

I like the sound of that. We have some good line-ups as is but I feel it's time to change things around a bit, see if we can get some good chemistry going.

Erm...go look at the save percentages. They're among the best. So there goes yoru argument down the toilet.

Save percentages, against what, shots from the blueline, lol. Watch the leaf game Saturday? Wings marginally outshot the leafs, but the solid chances we had waaay out numbered the leafs. Toskala robbed us numerous times.

The saves our goalies are required to make on a consistent basis are much less quality then our goalies and less shots, thus giving them the best looking stats. When was the last Vezina given to a Wings goalie?

WHEN???

Terry Sawchuk!!!!!!!!

EXACTLY!!!

Terry was a TOP NOTCH GOALIE!!!

Sure Hasek won in his prime, but he's not any longer, he's just a good goalie now, no longer Top Notch! His Snowflakes are not the same anymore!!!

we need more than 1 god damn line that can score. The people here who can't admit that are the most blind morons I've ever seen on a hockey forum. Hudler, Flip, Cleary, and Sammy are not good enough to carry a 2nd line in ANY combination yet. And now with the best player (Cleary) out until the Playoffs, expect a lot more losses till the end of the season until we get a PROVEN 2nd line scorer in a trade. We're not going anywhere in the playoffs with the team we have now. You guys need to look at it from an outside perspective and take off the Wings glasses every once in a while. Not every player we have is the best ever and better than all the other players in the NHL. We have a great 3rd and 4th line, they shut down the other teams big guns, but we have no outside scoring except for our top 3 right now.

Woah. There. Buddy. The only glasses that need to be taken off are the ones that are making you think youre the only one who sees a problem with our secondary scoring. The folks who dont think we need it are in the majority. Why do you think there are so many Hossa/Sundin/Prospal trade proposals floating around on this board...?
