YAY...GET MCCARTY UP HERE FOR SUNDAY'S GAME.

Wtf. Maltby gets called for goalie interference.

Wings are asleep. I'm still bedazzled from Modin's goal when he was covered by Lilja and Lebda...oh wait...Lilja and Lebda...doesn't suprise me anymore.

Great. Every time a wings player tries to do something offensively, the rest of the team is off beating their meat.

I don't know who I have more sympathy for: Mickey Redmond, for having to deal with his health issues and surgery, or myself, for having to listen to an extra month of Larry Murphy forming sentences with as much grace as Frankenstein's monster.

Go, Mac!!

Wings were outshot, outplayed on all levels and are looking at another blanking if they don't stop screwing around. They just showed Homer on the bench, and he looks like wants to kill somebody....

Hopefully that's contagious and it'll show in the 2nd.

Can't get worse though.

its seeming like the wings have no meat to beat,

So I should just try to enjoy this and be thankful that I get to see him play?

Too right! I've got a feeling we'll come out hungry in the 2nd. If not, good chance you'll get to see Howard in action.

I just checked the schedule and I get Detroit/Colorado on Tuesday, let's hope we're out of our slump by then.

I will say one thing about our D...if they aren't going to play physical then they had better be fast which we aren't. Is Lebda hurt? for a fast guy he look's like a pilon. Chelli look's 46. We will sort it out but we do need some speed and depth on D.

Lazy....very, very lazy. Like they just don't care about winning a game anytime soon. Left Oz completely out to dry on the first goal. Oz made 3 or 4 saves, and then Nash gets the puck near the net and the PK unit, all 4 of them, just stand there and watch him score. Oz stands up and just shakes his head.

This little adversity will help us in the playoffs?

That might have been, in all honesty, the worst period of Red Wings hockey I have ever seen.

What happened to our defensemen? Do we really miss Niklas Kronwall this much? All of a sudden, every defenseman on the team has fallen into a lazy, sloppy rut. I have never seen opposition players getting behind the Wings' defense like I have during this past week, and it's continued tonight. Brett Lebda had just about as bad a period as a hockey player can have. The lapse in effort and determination from the entire team is startling.

And, man, I love Chris Osgood, but the guy is really struggling since the All-Star break. Say all you want about him not having any chance on the goals, which is certainly true some of the time, but he looks frazzled.

I really thought we were going to come out with a nice effort tonight, so I'm surprised by what I just witnessed. There are still 40 minutes to play, and we all know what the team is capable of, but I'm not sure how likely a comeback is tonight. If we do in fact lose, our upcoming five-game road trip is daunting and this losing streak has the potential to grow into a much bigger problem than it already is. The team needs to be really careful.
