What a crappy game this is!!!!!

Have the wheels fallen off this team or is just me?

I don't understand what is going on. We are able to play good hockey minus Zetters. Cleary goes out and we can't do a damn thing. Granted this skid started before he went out, but this is F@#king ridicules.

Here is to a better second period.

That might have been, in all honesty, the worst period of Red Wings hockey I have ever seen.

What happened to our defensemen? Do we really miss Niklas Kronwall this much? All of a sudden, every defenseman on the team has fallen into a lazy, sloppy rut. I have never seen opposition players getting behind the Wings' defense like I have during this past week, and it's continued tonight. Brett Lebda had just about as bad a period as a hockey player can have. The lapse in effort and determination from the entire team is startling.

And, man, I love Chris Osgood, but the guy is really struggling since the All-Star break. Say all you want about him not having any chance on the goals, which is certainly true some of the time, but he looks frazzled.

I really thought we were going to come out with a nice effort tonight, so I'm surprised by what I just witnessed. There are still 40 minutes to play, and we all know what the team is capable of, but I'm not sure how likely a comeback is tonight. If we do in fact lose, our upcoming five-game road trip is daunting and this losing streak has the potential to grow into a much bigger problem than it already is. The team needs to be really careful.

Would you blame Oz for being frazzled? I mean, he can't score the goals for his team, and they did leave him on his own on that first goal, just watching Nash score. I wouldn't doubt that he is pissed off right now, shaking his head kind of has me thinking that way. And letting Modin of all people get behind the entire team for a breakaway?? There are some serious problems here, and they are starting and ending with the defense, or lackthereof lately.

I'm a big Hasek fan - but I want Osgood to play solid and be good... as you said, since all-star break (his new contract) he's on ICE COLD streak...

This is just a mere game in February... we have injuries folks it is not the end of the world. I am willing to bet we go on a win streak very soon. This game aint over yet either. Jackets suck so we are still in this. 2 more periods to go.

Babcock have better unloaded on them. Maybe threaten everyone will be traded to Los Angeles if they dont play better.

They might like that. Then Blake will be on their team and LA would be a good team..... Osgood though has been flat out terrible lately. Letting all the goals go in he possibly can.. PUT HOWARD IN. GIVE US A CHANCE

Well, yeah, I would blame him for being frazzled. He's an NHL goaltender. He has to be able to face adversity like this. Again, I really don't want to turn this into a big goalie debate where everybody takes sides and we throw things at each other, because I love Chris Osgood and he's a fantastic goalie. But he just isn't playing well right now. That's the end of the story.

The Red Wings miss Dan Cleary more than I ever thought they would. As crazy as it is, he's probably gaining more traction in his contract discusssions by being out of the line-up than he would be if he was playing.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!

HEY RED WINGS, WAKE THE HELL UP. I can't even blame any of this on Ozzie. Maybe he could of had the second goal, but my goodness the D is just standing there and watching instead of covering their man.

They still got two periods left to turn this around. I have faith that they can and will. Ozzie will shut the door on the Jackets from here on out.

GO WINGS!!!

first goal might have been stoppable, Modin's wasn't... that was a breakdown that shouldn't have happened. Not too sure about the third goal, but the skaters can't be held responsible for everything here.

It seems the whole team took a nosedive at the same time and it's unfortunate. However, as quickly as they unravelled, it won't surprise me to see them figure it out and come back steady again.

Maybe not in this game, however.

My Stars fan buddy just emailed me. He can't wait for Sunday. Fortunately, I was unable to afford tickets to the game. It's completely sold out. ~whew~

Last I checked, Oz wasn't the only goalie losing games on this team. Neither goalie has been fantastic lately, but neither has the rest of the team. The entire team needs to pull their act together, and quick. Don't need this little slump to snowball and get alot worse, especially not at a time like this.

Let's just hope that they find out how to score, and soon.

A few weeks ago, I heard Bill Clement on XM radio saying that his only concern about the Red Wings is they haven't faced any adversity all season. Well, you can't say that anymore. Between the injuries and the losing streak, the Wings are knee deep in adversity. The Wings look as out of sorts now as they did in the first round of the 2006 playoffs against Edmonton.

I don't like seeing them lose, but I'd rather see this happen now than in April.

we will just agree to disagree on that. Dom's been incredible, even when the team sucked.

I do agree that scoring is a huge issue, however. 2 goals per game on 40-50 SOG won't cut it out there. Or none, in this game... I will settle for them not being blanked in this game.

Yeah, absolutely. That's what I keep telling myself.

Let's not forget, though, that this is shaping up to be ANOTHER loss against the Central Division. Crazy.
