dallas27 7 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Actually Holland is the Best GM in the league. He didn't sell the team for a cup run. Decisions aren't made only with him. He didn't have to sell the team for a cup run. Decisions are a major part of his job.

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Stuart to Detroit for 2nd and 4th. He didn't do "nothing." I think that's a solid move. Good stuff. I stand by the previous post though. I'm glad he didn't overpay for anyone.

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Actually Holland is the Best GM in the league. He didn't sell the team for a cup run. Decisions aren't made only with him. He didnt sell the team for a cup run??? AN AHL DMAN AND A 2ND or 3RD for PROSPAL?? AN AGING DMAN AND A 3RD for SALEI??? Holland f***ed up. Plain and simple. Deals couldve been had, and they wouldnt have been rentals either. It wouldve been one thing if the team stood pat, and others did too, but the Caps, Avs, Stars, Ducks, Sens, Sharks, Flyers, and Pens have ALL gotten stronger. rage 24 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Or prescribed medicine you ******. I see you're from Waterford huh? That does make you an expert on poverty doesn't. You F*cktard WATERTUCKYYY Well no s*** it's a prescribed medicine. That goes without saying. But a lot of people crush and sniff, so that's where the poor mans' coke quote comes from. I guess that really pissed you off and now you gotta bash Waterford in hopes of huting my feelings. I'll do you a favor and say don't waste your time, because it won't work. Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 The deal was sitting there and was told to the league way earlier, but the call was made right after Hossa.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 (edited) Detroit is easily the biggest loser at the deadline It goes along with us being the biggest losers going into the trade deadline.... teehee its all so perfectly fitting. lack of scoring equals the abiity to remain status quo at the deadline. Oh boy I hope brady boy can score 60+ in the post season Edited February 26, 2008 by OsGOD
sticknmove 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 I'm quite happy with the fact that this was the only guy that anyone overpaid for. That's a lot of progress from last year and we need to make sure that reasonable deals become the precedent moving forward. Lots of kinks to work out in getting used to the new business of the NHL. I'm going to applaud Ken Holland for not getting worked up and making a stupid move. Even if nothing else comes through, I think it's real smart that the big-wigs like Holland and Burke stood strong with their rosters so as to discourage the bloated trades that went on last year. I mean, you've really gotta think on that level. Even if you feel like a deal like Hossa could really help you now, you don't want to set yourself up to continue to be backed up against a wall year after year having to give up the world for middle of the road guys. I think Holland gets this on a much more wholistic level then pretty much anyone in the media as well as many GM's. So again, hats off to Burke and Holland for playing it conservatively. They'll still probably be the two teams in the WCF and then what can you say? You're a better man then me. We had a clear problem that needed to be adressed before the playoffs, Holland promised us last summer we would use the saved capital to sign a "big name" at the deadline. The man failed, he is not a failure, or even a bad gm. But today went as bad as it possibly could for us.
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Well I'm just bringing up our last "Blockbuster" deal at the deadline.......How about Ranford/Clark/Samuellson/Chelios? Schneider?......Years we won the cup we got a combined Murphy (best deal), Macoun, Mironov and Slegr........Hmmm I honestly don't care what the Wings did in the past. This current team has major holes that seem to have gone unplugged today. That's what irks me.

rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Getting Stuart on that 2nd PP unit was as good as trading Sammy.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Okay okay...this makes me feel better. Size and Grit on the back end for next to nothing. Not bad, not bad. Wouldnt have minded a Stoll/Fedorov/Fedotenko addition though, after we lost out on all the big fish.
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Epic fail. Stuart solves zero problems.
Redwingsfan18 1 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Stuart for a 2nd and 4th? Thats a great move. Phew, the Wings have finally solidified their D. I kinda figured after Hossa was rumored to Pitt that it would take Kenny a lil while to get a trade done. But he made a solid move here, I like stuart.
