4 assists in his first game for Dallas, fair effort that.

Anyone else scared of Dallas, just a little?

No. They always choke in the 1st round of the playoffs no matter how well they play upon entering the playoffs. Reminds me of a certain team I know. :D

didn't the Canuckleheads just barely get past them in the 1st round?

i think the stars are going to cause some serious problems in the conference (hopefully for the Ducks)

I wanted this guy here at the deadline more than anyone else. Canadian, proven playoff performer, exactly what we need. Also, he's wearing #91 now :) It would be very ironic if we got a #91, but not the one everyone was expecting.

And now they are three points away from the top. UGH.

Let them move into the top spot. For one, it will put the #1 seed target on their back. The Wings might benefit from not being the 1 seed for once. Also, this will set the Stars up for potential 2nd round match-up with the Ducks-Sharks. In fact, if Dallas keeps this up, the Sharks-Ducks will likely play in round 1 and Dallas would meet the winner in round 2. I know it's too early and the seeding will fluctuate, but the Wings would potentially NOT draw SJ or Ducks in round 1 and NOT draw the Stars until the WCF. Not to say we wouldn't have a tough time with the other teams, but this could be a scenario to avoid those teams until late in the playoffs....just a thought.

I like Richards - If his contract was not so hefty, I would have been all for him on the Wings. But then again, if his contract was not so ridiculous, TB would not have been shopping him.

Dallas is a better team with him though, we should watch out.

it seems like dallas has been a low scoring, low goals against team for the last couple of years. if they keep the GAA down, adding a big offensive punch is going to be great for them. they've surprised me with their play recently, and they got red hot right as the wings got ice cold. it'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

and, yeah, as great as all the president's trophies are, it seems pretty rare that a number one seed actually makes it to the finals. so as much as i love being the best team in the league, it'd be nice to have everying one gunning for a different team.

While I agree with everything you have said, I just don't see your logic in every other team gunning down Dallas if they become #1. Detroit is Detroit, no matter who they play they will always have to play their A game to be able to beat the other team. Don't you remember Chicago earlier this season, Columbus and even that game with Atlanta? Bottom line is Detroit will always have a bullseye on their back no matter what position they are in during the season. Which makes you(the hockey fan) either love them more or hate them more.

I could not agree more!!!!!!!

Due to the fact that they have been a regular season dynamo for 12-15 years, they have won 3 cups, the only team that has been that successful over that time is NJ. Everyone seems to gun for the wings, especially in the post season.

Richards will be great in Dallas, he would have been great in DET too, but Dallas gave up a lot to get him, and there is no way Det was going to match that offer because any offer to TB had to start with J-Ho.
