From today's skate:

-- Either Mark Hartigan or Aaron Downey will be the scratch up front tonight. Coach Mike Babcock said that he'll wait until after the pregame skate to decide.

-- Sunday's starter in net hasn't been decided either. Babcock said that who starts from here on out is "up to Dom" meaning how Dominik Hasek plays will dictate the goalie schedule. Hasek is making his first start since returning from a hip flexor injury. Hasek said that the hip flexor impedes his ability to go up and down.

-- Brad Stuart and Niklas Kronwall will match up against the Joe Thornton line as will center Henrik Zetterberg.

-- Derek Meech will be on the ice as much as possible when Pavel Datsyuk's line is out to make sure that the puck moved forward quickly.

-- Defenseman Brian Rafalski (groin) took part in the entire morning skate but will not play tonight

Let's go now boys, get it done. Our defensive core no longer scares me and our offense *kind of* started clicking near the end of the Edmonton game. It's time to stop messing around.

5-2 Wings.

We gotta score the first goal, and we can't let them get rolling on the powerplay. They usually own us with the man up and now Lidstrom's gone. :scared:

That being said, Wings 5-2. Holmstrom(2)/Flip/Hank/Franzen

it was only 1 game but Campbell looked like exactly what Sharks needed last game against Columbus (only caught 1-2 min of the game tho)

I think we really need to take a lot of momentum from them.. otherwise this could be ugly. Watch out for Cheecho sneaking in

Go Wings!

I think this is going to be a great game to watch and I'm glad to hear it sold out. The Sharks are actually playing hockey lately (although that could change - they're still incredibly streaky), and even with out NL Detroit's a great team. I don't really care who wins, just so long as the Sharks don't get lazy (never a worry with the Wings) and it's fun to watch.

I think the Sharks finally are ready to play well against Detroit. Cheechoo's finally going full strength, Marleau seems to be picking it up at least a little, and 2 of the young guys are starting to light the lamp more (watch Mitchell, who's on a line with Greir and tends to get a lot of shorties, and Pavelski, who's probably on the second line tonight and seems to be coming into his own lately). Campbell had a great first game and fills the gaping hole in the Shark's line-up. More like a sucking void.

But aside from the fact that Detroit is a great team (even if they're in a slump), the Wings just seem to have the Shark's number. As long as they stay calm and don't make desperation plays, they seem to do pretty well.
