commadore183 103 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 From the comments on TSN: WOW...just...WOW. This is undoubtedly the logic in the league offices right now. Wow, blame the victim, incredible what that person typed, edi. I started reading the comments, but gave up once I saw it had ballooned to over 100 (wish they had a thread type thing or something to see the whole comments without clicking on each one). Again, that incredible inversion of logic that seems to permeate the NHL disciplinary office. Wait, could that guy be Bettman?
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 From the comments on TSN: WOW...just...WOW. This is undoubtedly the logic in the league offices right now. In that case, what were they doing handing out a suspension to Simon when he cross-checked Hollweg in the face? Hollweg had just given Simon a questionable run into the boards. Guess that was enough provocation for Simon to be let off the hook.
SnipeShow 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 If this isn't proof of the league offices' love for the Ducks, Pronger and Brian Burke, nothing is. A f@$%ing joke. Jokes are usually funny. This isn't. The other night I was watching the PHX-ANA game and i was cheering for PHX the entire game, they ended up winning! but they had to over come so much. a couple of bad call on the coyotes and a couple of missed calls on the ducks. It was just so obvious the NHL is rooting for the Ducks it was gross, the referees were so obviously biased for the ducks. They piss me off so badly

It will only make you want to punch somebody in the face. Granted, I haven't seen the clip so I don't know if it was intentional or not. But a very many of the comments over there are something akin to "what a crybaby Kesler is" or "he had him in a leg lock, what was Pronger supposed to do?" One guy even went as far as to say he shouldn't have been punished for ramming Homer into the boards because Pronger is taller and Homer was bent over. Excuse me while I go wash the vomit off of my keyboard.

Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Chris Pronger is great defenseman but at the same time he dirty, really dirty player. NHL should have suspended him for rest of the season AND playoffs. I hate him even more now.

Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted March 13, 2008 2 golden tickets to the person who posts a video... lol Is it driving you as crazy as it is me that I can't see it? Truth be told where there is smoke there's usually fire. When it comes to Prongs, he's definitely no angel. He has a history of blowing up and losing it out there that started when he was 18 and in Hartford. I remember he got into some bar brawl when he was just a rookie there. Anyway, just because he has a history of dirty play doesn't mean he intentionally stomped on anybody here. I need to see this vid for myself to determine. But what the heck is wrong with your amigos on the Ducks board. The thread over there on this topic has them perilously close to edging out Vancouver fanboys as the most unintelligent, assbag slappies on the planet. Blaming kesler? Seriously? Like I said, gotta see the video before I condemn Prongs for this one but how do people immediately defend him without seeing the clip or go so far as to blame Kesler? Crazy Duck fans. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 I doubt the clip will show that it was as intentional as the Simon stomp. Then again, the league is stupid, so you never know. The bottom line is that Pronger acts way tougher than he really is, and is a spotpicker that pretty much needs to be surrounded by tough guys so that no one stomps on him one day. He's a slightly tougher version of Ulf Samuelsson.

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) :nonono: From allducks.com It was against the boards in the Vancouver zone, behind the play as it was heading toward the Ducks end. Kesler was down on the ice. He had Pronger's lower leg trapped/tangled between his legs. Pronger tried to free himself. It appeared that Kesler either couldn't or wouldn't allow it, so Pronger attempted to shake his trapped leg free harder. Pronger then appeared to stomp down either to regain his balance or better free himself before he was able to skate away. Kesler then slowly got up and went to the bench. Another Gem: Thank goodness! There is some sanity left in the league offices. Edited March 13, 2008 by Never Forget Mac #

umredwing11 2 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) This is so frustrating. The league has a HUGE double standard for their "star players" like Pronger as compared to the bottom-feeders, i.e. Tootoo and Simon. How can that Wisniewski get a one game suspension for a play that everyone, including Samuelsson, admits was accidental yet Pronger stomps on someone's calf and the league hands out nothing. Just ridiculous. Edited March 13, 2008 by umredwing11
Bluedevils_13 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Pronger's suspension history (from ESPN.com) You don't call that a "repeat offender"? You know what makes me really sick about Pronger, the NHL gives him such leeway to where he will do something worth being susepended, but not worth being penalized? Read his suspension list, how many of those plays was he allowed to finish the game unpenalized? It is disgusting how much this bastard gets away with. Why do they let him do this s***? Not to mention the things he does get suspended for if anyone else did it would be a much longer punishment.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 I'm not usually one to root for guys getting injured, no matter how much I hate them. But if I was watching a game and saw someone like Derian Hatcher remove a couple of Pronger's teeth with a crosscheck, or send him to the ice with a BC two-hander, my honest first reaction would be "How do you like that, b*tch!" Because he's been on the giving side of so many dirty plays over the years, there honestly would be some satisfaction in watching him get a taste of his own medicine. Hell, if Hatcher or another player did do that to Pronger, the sales of that players jersey would probably skyrocket around the league.

Turkey 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Seriously, Chris Pronger is probably the only NHLer that can make me so furious that I'd not shed a tear if he was beat down. I'm not in favor of outrageous violence, nor do I like to wish injury, but if the league refuses to put him in his place then what? We're just supposed to endure him like Job? pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) go to tsn.com/nhl and and the headline is about the stomp, at the bottom of the paragraph preview, there is a little tv screen with the word "stomp" by it... you can watch it there. at first I wasn't sure what to think, Kessler's legs are tied up around Pronger's right leg. A normal hockey play where one player is down and tries to slow up the other player that put him there. so Pronger was obviously frustrated as anyone would be, the first time i watched it I thought he lost his balance and just tried to get free and came back down on Kessler by accident... Second time watching it - it looks like no accident. He looks back at Kessler, he frees his foot, then deliberately stomps down hard. If you ask me, Pronger is just like Simon, he needs some mental help. I hate this guy. Edited March 13, 2008 by pavyaz19
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 I just went to the one on their NHL.com site. I don't think that's the same one as Allducks.com Yeah, that's a different one than allducks.com (which seems to be more popular than the nhl.com hosted forum). That being said, allducks.com is pretty ridiculous. If you think the homer's are bad here at LGW....don't even bother.
