juice71285 2 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Its possible he could where pads like I do. The pads I wear were made for someone is has very large calves, but since I have moderate size ones the padding goes all the way around the back of my leg. Primarily wear these pads because I got tired of having trouble walking after games from the goalie chopping me all game long. FedorovGurl 2 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 How can anyone be surprised? Its just more of the same when it comes to that goon. Unfortunately it will take a horrid injury/death before anything is done to Pronger... and even then some idiots will defend him. Its like the more he gets away with, the worse and worse he gets and the league is feeding it by doing nothing. His actions have no place in hockey, nor does he if he keeps this vile behavior up. Creasemonkey 30 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 If hockey were not such a big part of my life, I would stop watching today. And I wouldn't watch again until somebody in the league office stepped up and said "Of course we give star players special treatment, particularly when they were born in Canada. We have decided to stop doing this because it's come to our attention that it's completely unprofessional, and it makes us look like we don't belong in pro sports. We're very sorry, and Chris Pronger has been thrown out of the league to make up for all the suspensions he didn't get." Alright, alright, fine. I'm kidding. But things like this make me embarrassed to be a fan of the NHL. They also make me want to take matters into my own hands and put a crosscheck in Pronger's teeth. He'd never expect it from a goalie. Now, the hard part: being good enough to play anywhere except my driveway.
IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 This upsets so much. I am so tired of the bulls*** the NHL is putting forward. The league as a whole is unfair and plays favorites. I am not even sure what it is. I cannot blame Donger for the lack of suspension. If I could rob a bank and get away with it every time I would not stop robbing ******* banks! The league as a whole is broken. The penalties, calls, lack of observing. We can have goals scored of the net, stompers get suspended for thirty and others for much less. GM's like Burke treated like a golden child and abusing rules to thier favors but ridicule GM's like Lowe for using the rules to his advantage. I deepy love the sport of hockey, this reminds me of when a girlfriend cheats and you get the angry feeling in the pit of your stomach of betrayel and hatred. This is how I feel about the NHL right now. Complete and absolute disgust. Duck Guy, your a great guy, but if you stand behind your team and your captain after this I will be forced to lose a level of respect.
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 .......Karma's a comin' MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA It seems like just about every other team in the NHL has their own official (free) message board but Detroit. What gives? this one is already better than any the NHL could come up with
Airborn 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) After finally seeing the video, there is no fathomable way that Colin Campbell could have honestly looked at both the Simon and Pronger plays and come to the conclusion that one deserved 30 games, while the other deserved nothing. If anything, Pronger's was more direct and too a less protected part of the body. I believe Campbell is either scared s***less to go against Burke after being publicly called out by him at the last GMs conference (plausible especially since Burke held the position before him) or Campbell is lobbying for the GM position in Anaheim should Burke leave for Toronto and is trying to build up some goodwill. One of these has to be the scenario because there is no way any reasonably intelligent person would look at these two cases and draw this conclusion. edit: grammar Edited March 13, 2008 by Airborn

SnipeShow 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 I'm curious if anyone in Anaheim knows about the NHL today... They go to the arena thinking that its just ice wrestling and big, goofy, canadian men beat each other up. Thats why the fans come back, the Ducks win every match. Vladiator 116 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Just watched it too. WHAT CRAP. Pronger was staring him down to make sure he stomped on him. DaKineMaui 8 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Ok, I was exaggerating a bit there... But the general consensus is "Kesler is a whiney b*tch" and "Good call NHL!" They are also discriminated against because they are not a canadian team. I'm curious if any of them actually knew who Pronger was before he came to Anaheim? Now that's precious. Tell them that the last count shows no less than 16 Canadian born players on their starting roster. (Well - Also maybe tell them that Canada is that country to the north of us?) Y'know what? Nevermind. aloha
RedFX 48 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 You know, everytime I see Pronger do something like this, I get so mad I wanna freak. Then I think about the time he tore his ACL trying to cream Stevie and I feel better.
arnoldbuck 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Similarly to football pads where you can greatly notice the pads covering the front of the thighs, hockey pads do the same but in more discrete manner. Just like football pads there isn't any protection on the inner thigh where Pronger stomped on Kesler. My thought is that he just barely caught enough of the frontal pad that it absorbed the brunt of the blow. Does that make sense? Edit: egroen makes a solid point as well. And another possible reason for it, is it was a stomp motion and not a kick. A kick would create a slicing motion with the blade. However, a direct pressing down of a hockey skate, (while it may hurt and has the potential to cut and injure) may not cut the skin. Just imagine taking a knife and pressing the blade evenly against your arm, it might hurt, but probably wont cut it. But then if you pull, making a slice, then you get cut. But just to add my two sense, along with everyone, Pronger is a f**kin ****** and I hate him. What also bothers me about this, is he is one of the Premier defencemen in the league, and most likely will be on Canada's 2010 squad. And obviously I will cheer for team Canada, and it just pisses me off (just like in Torino where he licked nuts) that I was cheering for a team he was a part of. LeftWinger 5,152 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 ...I am baffled. Blatent, on video, black and white (actually in color) cut and dry, plain as day. I don't get it. Someone shold spear this guy right in the chest and make his heart stop again, no, then he'll get sympathy like the last time. Someone needs to end his career, period. I don't understand Bettman. So there was no injury, the intent was there. He stomped on his calf! WHAT IF he severed an artery in his leg? Now he would be up for assault with intent to injure charges, or worse case scenario if the cut would have been deep enough, murder charges, how sweet would that be. I swear to (whoever you may worship) that if I ever see him in public or private I would beat him down (to the best of my ability) whatever jail time I would get would be worth it... b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 I don't know why I'm surpised, after all the crap Pronger gets away with, the cheapshot artist gets away scottfree on a play identical to Simon's stomp earlier this season which set the precedent at a 30 game suspension. Only difference is that Pronger is an All-Star defenseman who is yet to seriously injure anyone of comparible star power, so he'll continue to get away with this kind of crap. Only way the league is going to finally crackdown on the NHLs premiere goon is if he ends someone of all-star caliber. Until then, its just a ticking time bomb for the career ending injuries. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Two words for all of this: BUSH. LEAGUE. Today's non-action is just the summation of all the crap that's been going this season in terms of officiating, league discipline, etc. If it wasn't clear before today that he's in bed with Burke and the Anaheim Ducks, it damn well is clear now. Campbell and Bettman are doing everything in their power to get the Ducks to the Finals again and now the team knows that they can proceed with any degree of goonery they want and be certain that they won't see a lick of punishment as a result. If Pronger can use his skate as a weapon and nothing happens, they won't think anything of stick swinging, elbows, sucker punches, etc. - at least not if it's an Anaheim player doing it. Screw all of this. There IS a conspiracy. That's the only logical explanation because NO ONE can be that blind. Everyone else around the league can see what Pronger did and why it needs to be punished - except, apparently, for Gary Bettman, Colin Campbell, Brian Burke and the Anaheim Ducks. Despicable. Yeah, I'm not big on conspiracies but this one has gained weight over the course of this season and last year's playoffs. I saw the vid and he did look down and then stomp. I just want to read an explanation as to why he isn't gone for the precedent of 30 games that the league set with Simon. As for the lack of calls against the Ducks, they do get away with a lot. We saw it last playoffs and it continues. I guess the NHL likes to see Snoop Dogg in a jersey. I really think that we need a new commissioner and disciplinary head to survive as a league. As funny as it sounds, but Mickey Redmond, Brett Hull, and even that wacko Don Cherry seem to see through all the BS and call it like it should be. We need former players/coaches running the league, not lawyers and cronies.
