Just incase you guys missed it, antibiotics have no effect on the flu. It's a virus. Antibiotics help fight off bacteria. That's very different. There are a few, maybe four antiviral medications that can treat flu so Hasek may be on one of those but it's rarely prescribed unless it's a very bad case as it's just not real good to pump these sorts of things into your body all willy nilly style so like I said, either Holland's blowing smoke and it's another issue or Dom's in rough shape. Honestly, it'd probably be better if he was really injured. Given how bad the flu's been this year, he's likely to recover quickly from another hip or back problem than the flu.

I was just thinking that. It seems to either be a cover up or Kenny just doesn't know what he's talking about lol :g:. Interesting....

Anyway, I cannot wait til D-mac steps onto the ice again. The Joe is going to EXPLODE! :cheesy:

I wonder if they call it "flu" just because people recognize that as a common name for the "crud." What I imagine may have happened is that the flu turned into a secondary infection, like bronchitis or a sinus infection, since he was made vulnerable by the initial illness. That happens a lot, and perhaps what has him laid low right now is treatable by antibiotics. Who knows?

I just know this is not good news, at least from the perspective of some of us here. :(

Possible, I started with flu and then went on antibiotics b/c I developed strep throat as well. This started the first week of January. I've been healthy for a little over a week now. It's been rough.

And it's not good news for anyone b/c he's still probably going to start whether he should or not and good chance he's not going to be as prepared as he should be. I was complaining about consistency with both our goalies well before all this back and flu stuff came up and well, yeah, now look at how it's shaking down...

It's good to see that you're the kind of woman who supports your man even when he's sick. :)

Great news!

Thanks Canal+ for choosing this game as your Friday night broadcast.

Filppula could be back on Friday too,I read today that he thinks that's the realistic date.

Sooo excited already!

The way Datsyuk is playing you can put Aki Berg and Wade Belak and he will still score. Homer and Huds have both had success playing with him so that makes a pretty good second line.

:lol::thumbup:

Belak is a sniper,he'd score 50 with Dats.

But Aki Berg wouldn't score even if he had 20 penalty shots with the net empty.

This just pisses me off. I'm the biggest Mac fan in the world and the game he comes back the f*ckin' NHL Network pulls the game.

Such BS!

Really?

That really sucks.

I get to see this one though I live here far away ,but you won't.

That just doesn't sound fair. Way to keep your North American fans happy,Mr Bettman.

You beat me to it. I was going to blame Bettman first. I swear he does these things just to piss me off.

"antibiotics have no effect on the flu. It's a virus. Antibiotics help fight off bacteria. That's very different."

TRUE. just had the REAL FLU 3 weeks ago and the doc said, nothing we can do. take 400 advil a day and stay in bed. I'm assuming mac is on anti-biotics and just has something with flu-like symptoms.

as for "NHLNetwork Pulling the game friday" i think NFM25 meant that center ice had "pulled it" to their network. not hat they had decided not to show the game.

but tis true that if you have center ice but not NHLN you're SOL.

(note to so-cal residents: NHL network is now available! i know you can get it on COX and Time Warner cable providers. also this includes NHLN in HD! its amazing! also i get versus in HD now too. yipeeeeee)

also i'd just like to say how much i love being a part of the red wings community. you guys are all awesome. we should have some convention in the big D some day and cook mass quantities of meat and talk hockey!

peace.
