Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted April 19, 2008 As to where he comes from -- I hear he's been tossed around more than a hooker in hollywood. He's done well, but it just goes to show how weak the rest of their team is. If not for his play, this series would have already been over.
Gordie Howe hat trick 110 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I don't know, but that was a great game that he just played.
RedFX 48 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Ellis played freakin amazing, and that last goal was not his fault. It'll be interesting to see how he responds though. After the Red Wings beat him in OT last game, he went into a mini-slump and was pulled in 3 of his next 4 starts.
Gordie Howe hat trick 110 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 We could only hope, but something tells me we will be seeing him in Nashville for a while now.
WingNutNorCal 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 He played an outstanding game. I just couldn't believe it. I felt like it was the only reason the Wings didn't win the game out right 43-1. Hats off to him.
Gordie Howe hat trick 110 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 The more I think about it I would have given him the 1st star, just for the shelling he took. By the way who were the 3 stars?
DeuxEx 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I've been one of the ones saying he hasn't been that great this series but he was really amazing tonight.

Cruiser008 37 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 What? I know he's on the other team but I find it hard to hate a 27 year old guy who's waiting his whole career to be a starting goalie and now is playing out of his mind on hockey's biggest stage. Tootoo needs to be taught a lesson from Kronwall though.
HkyTwn 5 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 ...I hate him too, but mostly because he came from Nebraska-Omaha. He played top notch tonight though.
puertoricanWingsfan 5 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 As all of you know, this is nothing new. Every time the Wings go to the playoffs, the goalies we face all have the series of their entire lives. My hat goes off to Ellis though man. Rookie, fresh, pressure on. And he came to play. He's a hell of a goalie, and the only reason Nashville is still in it. Cuz you know it aint cuz of arnott! haha!

For the 05-06 season he was in the AHL. Not sure about 06-07, there's nothing for that season on his NHLPA page.

He played two full season in Iowa that includes 06-07. I'm not sure why the NHLPA page wouldn't say that.
RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 What make someone look great? Is it because he's that good, or because others that are against him suck? Babcocks message should be this: Finish Finish Finish, and I'm not talking about the country. If we can actually finish and put those pucks behind Ellis, then how good will he be then? Babcocks message should be this: Finish Finish Finish, and I'm not talking about the country. If we can actually finish and put those pucks behind Ellis, then how good will he be then? Ellis is great goalie, he's young but he has potential to be elite goaltender in the NHL. Our forwards do not suck. He is just great. On the other hand, we could be more mean in front of him. RedFX 48 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) Hard to believe that this is a guy that came to training camp on a tryout.....for Milwaukee. 7 months later, he has the league's best save percentage and six shutouts. Edited April 20, 2008 by RedFX
