WingsfaninGermany 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 The Avalanche should not be underestimated. They are a great team. That said though, I feel very strongly the Wings can pull this off. Go Wings!!!!!!

Superman54 91 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 going into the playoffs, I looked at the Avs as the dark horse we should be worries about every team though, its the playoffs. So yes, im worried........ always am!

I would have much rather watch San Jose get eliminated and get Calgary but what can ya do! Calgary was the last team I wanted to see. A western canada team with an obnoxiously loud crowd and hot goalie is never a good matchup for us. I just wanted Colorado b/c of the rivalry. And of course I'm worried, they just beat a good Minnesota team. It'll be a good series, I expect it to go 6 or

Great's a little bit of a stretch. Regardless, you all know the cliches: any team on any day blah blah blah. It's true though, so I'm cautiously optimistic about this series like I am every other one.
Vladiator 116 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Looking forward to avenge the hit on Lidstrom. DMac will take care of that. The Avs have a real good team, but the Wings D is so much better and has too much depth. Take it for what you will. It's gonna be a tough series and the history may be a factor. I guess we finally get what we wished for.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 For some reason I'm less nervous about versing the Avs than I was versing the Preds. Hopefully theres merit behind that, but who knows... Forsberg and Sakic are scary to go up against, because of all the playoff experience, chemistry and pure skill they have between the two of them, plus their younger players (Wolski and Stastny). If we can get to their goalie early in the series and destroy what confidence he has built up, the series shouldn't be too difficult, but if he keeps riding his streak we might have more scoring problems. Hatchet Barry 71 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I can't wait for the puck to drop in this series. It's gonna add another chapter to the Wings and Avs rivavlry. This should be a good series. LETS GO RED WINGS!
Jericho613 74 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 (edited) I wouldn't say worried. They do pose a threat, as all playoff teams do. But I think the Avs should be worried about Sakic and Forsberg getting injured, i'd be more concerned with Smyth,Wolski and Stastny . I say Wings in 5. WingMachine91 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 soo since were playing the same night as the flyers on thursday, which game will be on versus, because if i get screwed out of a wings avs game ill be pissed
daniel1 32 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 A quick down and dirty for why I'm not too worried about the Fagalanche: 1. Our top two forwards are better, healthier and in their prime = Dats/Z > Suckic/Foreskin 2. Our top two D are better and healthier than theirs = Lids/Rafi > Footsie/Hammerhead 3. Our resurgent goalie has more playoff experience (and a Cup!) than their resurgent goalie = Osgod > Theodoorstop Now that I'm all done calling them names and threatening to beat them up at recess I can still remember how intense some of those games in the previous matchups against them were and I'm pumped to have the rivalry back again. The only thing that worries me is their two young guns; Stastny and Wolski. If these two guys wake up and have a great series we better hope our young guns (Flip and Franzen) come to play too. Wings in
RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Avs are playing good... I dont expect it to be a steamrole. Its my view that coaching is the key to this series moreso than it was against the Preds. If Babcock can get the matchups he wants and have them be efffective (ie out-coaching the Avs) I think we will be good. Theodore has been playing better than several previous years, but even the Wild's struggling offense put somme pucks past him, which is good for us. While defense is important, a strong offense will put the Avs into a stall and is the second key to winning this series. Wings in 6.
LeftWinger 5,152 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 it's gonna be a fast paced series, yet another team peaking at the right time. The Wings should be worried... Then hopefully Holland gets fired... (sorry had to sneak that in there.)
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 They have better offense than we do..that's what I am afraid about. Our D is much better than theirs though. It will be up to Ozzie.

The Noodle 39 14 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Well I'm pretty sure Ozzie is gonna get tested in this series so we will see. Can only go as far as your goaltending will take you. Hopefully our D can limit Sakic and Forsberg and we can pull this one out! After watching the last series with the Av's and Wild yes the Avalanch scare me. Forsberg creating random breakaways on us will not be a good thing lol.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted April 23, 2008 (edited) I'm not worried in the least. it's gonna be a fast paced series, yet another team peaking at the right time. The Wings should be worried... LidstromIsASuperhero 29 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I'm a little worried, but I always am. Basically though, I think our defense is capable of handling their forwards. I don't however, think their defense can handle ours. We should take them down.

interminded 1 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I think it will be a clash between two 'resurrected' goalies.. Ozzie and Theodore. It's going to be interesting !
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Not at all worried, and here's why - the Avs are a skilled team, just like the Wings. We usually struggle against big, physical, defense-first teams, which the Avs are not. It should be a great series, and I'm stoked about it, but in a head to head contest of skill and Hockey talent, Colorado are a poor mans Detroit Redwings
