Real1 2 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 If I can't get one of these, I will go get my own made for me. I know a guy who runs this type of company. I have like 50 tee's from him. To many.
Kira 451 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 (edited) Again the question becomes, does this guy's stupidity come to him naturally, or does he have to work at it? As far as bowing down to him, I bow to no one. And I'm damned if I will bow to someone who is dumber than I am. As my ex-brother-in-law once said, "If brains were gasoline, he couldn't power a pissant's motorcycle around the inside of a Cheerio." Doggy 130 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 The t-shirt is a good idea however I understand Bettman's position. I'd have done the same thing if I were him. That being said, he's still a ******.

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 What you are all missing in your blind hatred for Bettman? Vetoing this marketing decision was the CORRECT MOVE for the league. Think about it. Let's market an incident with alleged hypocrisy and star treatment, to really bring out the best in the league! By vetoing these shirts, Bettman is denying the league's detractors, those who would sit and say the league cares more about star treatment than fair play, but denying them a method of league-sanctioned protest. And furthermore, if Bettman had NOT vetoed this? This board would have erupted about how he was a hypocrite and was doing his best to destroy the league's credibility. Doggy 130 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 ^It is just a t-shirt thought, whats wrong? Ugh! I know I'm going to get lynched for this but it's the truth so I'll say it anyway. Bettman can't comission something that is essentially rewarding Avery for his less than honorable actions. For all intents and purposes this t-shirt is an endorsement for Avery and I think it's fair judgment for Bettman to disallow it. Whether or not you think this rule should exist is irrelevant. It does and they must remain consistent in their intent to stop things like this happening.
DYags 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 The word Bettman makes me want to yell, fight, and puke all at the same time. That being said, overall I'd have to agree with this decision. I'd love to see a third party make of this incident in t-shirt form (much like the Roy F*cked Up T-shirts we have available on LGW)

I'd love to see a third party make of this incident in t-shirt form (much like the Roy F*cked Up T-shirts we have available on LGW) There's a bunch of websites that have versions of it already. This site has one that looks just like the 'official' one was supposed to: http://www.moewampum.com/

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 I understand why he did it, but I still want a shirt. I think it'd be cooler without an NHL license emblazoned on it anyways..
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 You know, this time I actually understand where he's coming from. It IS hypocritical to make money off a player that you despise and that you try to control. And Avery IS a world class donkey's rear end.
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 There's show-off loudmoths like Avery all over the NBA and NFL, yet in the NHL they try not to market players like him, while in other leagues they become front-page material.
Shockwave180 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 Can we stop with the lame "let's change Bettman's name to something super-insulting" moves? "Betass?" Really? At least think of something witty or creative. Otherwise, say his name correctly, tell why he's a poor commissioner (which he is), and move on. And yes, as several others have said, I can understand this particular move. I don't like him, but he got this one right.
