I don't think he had a great year over there (Russia),'' Holland said. "I don't think there's been that commitment to conditioning that we needed to see to give me hope that he can be an NHL player. Unless somebody tells me some new news in the next two months, my take is it's time to move on.'

Basically, the kid didn't want to bother getting in shape to be an NHL player. He's making a tonne of jack doing nothing in the RSL.

He's fat, lazy and couldn't care less about playing in the top league in de vorld.

I wonder if someone would take him in a trade.

Why would someone trade for a play that obviously doesn't want to play in the NHL.

He was given every chance.

Maybe his leg injury is greater and more painful than we know, it could be pain that keeps him from working out. Whatever the reason I see no reason any team would be interested in him, with what happened at the start of this season, the Wings are his only hope, IMO.

Everyone knows the wings are the best at finding diamonds in the rough, and now even they don't want him. That makes it a hard sell.

I wish the best for him and it is too bad that the accident happened and derailed his progress, it is too bad he may never achieve his goal of being an NHL player.

However the truth of the matter is at this point in time he has as much chance of coming back as Ray Bourque!

We'd have to sign him before attempting to trade him, as he will be a restricted free agent at season's end. From the sound of that article, Holland isn't interested in even signing him. Low draft picks aren't even worth the headache those negotiations would be, considering everyone is seemingly unhappy with the situation.

man i totally agree opie. that says a lot when it seems that the wings have even given up on him. that does mean that we see nothing good coming from him to even waste time trying to get him to work hard.

Who cares about Grigs!

Its these amazing quotes from babcock and homer that I care about

Wings coach Mike Babcock said Brunnstrom signing with Detroit should be a no-brainer, considering how many Swedes the team has.

"It's so obvious it isn't even funny, just move into Novi, Little Sweden, and hang out, it's like the old country,'' Babcock said. "I can't even understand how anybody else is in the running. Makes no sense to me whatsoever. All they (Swedish players) do is they come here, they're comfortable, they play better than they ever have in their life

Noting the large contingent of Swedes already in the organization, Tomas Holmstrom joked: "It's always nice to have your countrymen, but I don't know if you need seven or eight or 10. Seven's enough. OK, eight.''

Just brilliant

good riddance. the guy just isn't motivated enough.

there was a lengthy interview in russia posted last summer (that someone here translated), and grigs just complained on and on about having to leave russia and how homesick he would be. i dont even know why the wings bothered if he had that kind of mentality.

i am much more excited about brunnstrom.
