servo 15 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 And thus breaks the streak of Dallas winning the first two on the road. If we can pull out another win on Saturday, I think we have a very, very good shot going into Dallas. But even better KEEPS Turcos record of never winning at the JOE!!!! Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Impressive, impressive game Wings! When the game was still in the balance, the Wings had the puck on their stick and in the Stars' zone the entire time. Goodnight, all! I'm off to the airport to catch the red eye--I'll be in Detroit for game 2!!!
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Did it seem like kind of a sleepy game for Game 1 of the Conference Finals to anyone else? Good win, defensively solid. Ozzie was the man. The JLA crowd can make any game seem sleepy. I hope they're not too tired to cheer when we win the Cup if it happens to be during a home game. It was sad to watch again tonight. tazzer82 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 I wanted to see either Homer or Franzen "accidentally" run into Turco. He popped Helm in the face and got away with it, though it seemed the refs swallowed the whistles towards the end of the game. Either way, Turco still can not chase his demons at JLA. Let's see if the Wings can't chase him during game 2.

Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 great game. Kinda worried that the game was even when five on five, but hell, cant stay outa the box forever. I think 5 on 5, the Stars match up with the Wings nicely, but our PP and PK owned them tonight.

kylee 727 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 extremely pleased with this win. great game all around. Wings defense was incredible and totally shut down. I noticed the stars couldnt even enter the zone while on a PP. great stuff.

zombiewing 3 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 star's coach tippet being interviewed, crying mulligan on that 5 on 3 call. wah wah wah. even if we did not score on that pp, it would still be 3-1. dallas was fatigued and turco's ghosts are haunting the joe. tazzer82 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Cry me a freaking river Tippett. Crying about how the 3rd goal by Homer shouldn't have counted. "When a player is in the blue paint, the goal shouldn't have counted". "Marty wasn't given the chance to make the save, and we were told that when a player is in the blue paint, the goal will not count, obviously that didn't happen". Blah blah blah. Maybe you should focus on how badly your team sucked it up, and not about a "harsh" penalty call on that 5 on 3 PP for the Wings. The Wings were the better team, plain and simple. jim3033 1 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Lehtinen was not on the ice for the 1st two power play goals. Holmstrom's goal should have been called off. Wings could only score on power plays. Dallas was too tired after the 4OT game. This win was pure luck.

Boo hoo. Here's an idea: 7 penalties = bad. Simple, right coach? It wouldn't even have been a 5-on-3 if Norstrom hadn't taken a dumb penalty thirty seconds prior. Dallas was too tired after the 4OT game. This win was pure luck. I would like to see more 5 on 5 goals in the next game and the Holmstrom goal I would have to agree. He has to stay out of the crease. I hope they tell him that, he needs to be more careful about that or it will catch up to us.

zombiewing 3 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 If the Stars have any chance in this series, it's 5-on-5. 5 on 5 plus a week's vacation. wow tippett sounded pissed. imagine all of the doubts in the star's room: turco and his ghosts almost blowing a huge series lead against the sharks knowing that you are utterly and completely drained from a marathon OT game turco and his ghosts (sorry had to mention that again). servo 15 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Maybe some of the announcers will hear the captains word about everyone playing well together and the wings success doesn't hinge on one line.
