I heard that the Stars just didn't show up. I was forced to checking updates of the game on my phone.

I heard the Stars had a bunch of badly called penalties.

Then I watched some highlights.

The Wings shot Turco's eyes out.

Kron laid some people out.

Osgood made people cry on odd-man and breakaway chances.

But you know. The Wings are just getting so lucky that everyone sucks more than then on any given occasion.

That 4OT game ended EARLY MONDAY MORNING! That was 3 days ago. If the stars really were still tired, they need to hire a new conditioning staff. That's no excuse. This is the 3rd round of the playoffs for crying out loud.

With that said, I thought the penalty they took to put Dallas down 5 on 3 was a silly, cheap call. I think that the Wings are playing THAT DAMN good right now and it's going to take something drastic to knock the highly confident red wings off of this streak they're on.

With that said, I predicted the score last night! na nana na doodoo. lol

I don't care about respect, i hope that nobody continues to give the wings respect all the way to the Stanley cup presentation.

I'll be the first to admit, the Wings have had plenty of good breaks this year in terms of being healthy for the most part and "ideal" matchups, but you take what is given to you in the playoffs in terms of matchups, health, the nights of the games, etc.

Wings were just the better team overall in game 1, "rusty"/injuries or neither from either team.

We'll see if the script is different in game 2....

I got a better idea. Finish off your opponent in less than six games and four overtimes, then you won't have to worry about fatigue. Oh, what's that? Dallas had a tougher opponent than the Wings? Fine, then play better in the regular season, earn yourself a higher seed and easier opponents.

Nothing about the Stars' current predicament is due to forces beyond their control.

To be clear I don't think the Stars are complaining about this, guys like Modano and Morrow are too professional to let them. I suppose the Stars should consider themselves lucky the NHL doesn't schedule like the NBA does - the Pistons finished off the Sixers in 6 and then had to roll right into Game 1 two days later without any break.

Anyway, if you want to know why the fatigue factor is bulls***, once and for all? The Wings jumped out to an early lead. If fatigue was the real concern, the Stars would have played well to begin and lost in the third when tired legs caught up with them.

I still hold that the 4OT game was 3+ days prior to Round 3 Game 1. If you can't recover in 3 days, you need additional conditioning.

The wings were just better, and made Dallas look bad in game 1. That's all there is to it. Yes there have been good breaks for the Wings, but we have not had those good breaks in alot of years now. It's about time they go our way.

The best part about this is that before the game and in the early stages, playing a couple of days ago was an advantage the stars had over the wings, the announcers were saying the wings would be rusty and the stars would be sharp!!

One thing I did notice and think this will be a big factor for the wings success.

The wings only get hit, when they feel they need to in order to get the puck to a teammate.

The Stars can not hit the wings, neither could the Avs, the only team to really hit them with any regularity was Nas.

You can't hit what you can't catch, and if you get close enough to hit one, he gets rid of the puck so by the time he is hit, it is a moot point, puck is gone and the player usually turns his body and absorbs the hit. Or it D's case he just hits the guy back and watches him fall to the ice!!!

That game was a complete and epic fail if you are a stars fan. Hagman's break away will hopefully be a prelude to this series, the stars were so close yet so far away. One of the few times they get past the Wings D, not defenseman but the team D, and Ozzie says:

I was really impressed with the way the Wings handled the Stars in game one, but I have to say, I don't expect the series to have to many more games decided by 3 goals or more. This is a good stars team, they will make adjustments. They will probably start by trying to stay out of the box.

I was way more bothered by Glen Healey's comments regarding how this series was over and the 2nd period hadn't even concluded yet.

Dallas will be much better in Game 2. But if the Wings win, I think it's over in 5.

Look no further then ESPN and, gasp, Barry Melrose to give the Wings their due credit. They talked about the game plain and simple didn't talk about the Stars off ice they talked about what the Wings did.

After watching it I think the reason why i hate how no analyst gives the Wings their credit is because as they go on this awesome run through the playoffs it's great to watch but it adds to the pride you have for your team when you get to listen about how dominate they've been. We've been denied that for the entire playoffs, this helps some.

If you are going to give the stars credit for missing on plays then the wings get credit for the scoring chances they had as well. For instance the Kronner Flip 2-1 that the puck bounced over Kronner's stick. That is 5-2 if you include the "unlucky" 2-1's.

No difference in the game.
