Nashville resigns Erat - 7 Years 31.5 million

Bad news. Might drive the market up for Franzen. Erat's a $2.5-3 million player, not $4+.

yeah, I'd also see him in the $3M range. he's been valuable for Preds but

$4M+ a year is plenty of money which can buy star players. Erat is not that good.

Good Joke..

Wait wait..

Your serious?

Leave it to nashville.

Yeah, I thought Nashville made a big deal of signing decent players to small contracts... This is uncharacteristic of them... Not to mention dumb...

I think you're all wrong, at least looking at it wrong. HE"S THE ONLY PLAYER THE FANS KNOW. When you're trying to build a fan base ya got to start someplace. Surprised though, Ellis would have been more of a priority. Their GM states that Erat, Tootoo, Suter, and Weber to be resigned.

For the first time I can recall, Poile will have no spending limits this off-season. He's certainly using this as an opportunity to lock up his key guys. A little overpaid in my opinion, but he was great when he was with Kariya. If the Preds get a solid playmaker, this guy could be great.

shoule be interesting, poile gets a lot of credit for being a solid GM with a tight budget, but in a way having a tight budget is good in that it limits your options both good and bad ... having the freedom to spend $$$ often means you have the ability to make a lot more really bad deals ...
