It's great that you're here to discuss what will likely be a Pens/Wings match-up, but how about someone posts a thread on your boards about LGW's open-door policy. It seems that whatever dicatators run your forum have frozen registrations so that we're not able to do the same.

Yeah, we've just finished a series with the Rangers and will (hopefully) knock the Flyers out in the next game. You can imagine the kind of trolls we've been dealing with from New York and Philly.

Might help if you use a non-Detroit sounding screen name. Not sure about that, tho.

Could be worse. At the Capitals forums, they'll let you register (so they can fill up your inbox with refuse) but they won't let you reply to any messages on their forums.

You underestimate the determinations of Flyers trolls. We discussed the playoffs fine with Ottawa and Rangers fans, but Philly still has a problem with civilization.

As am I. They are all complaining about the Red Wings fans predicting a Pens-Wings series win for the Wings, yet it's acceptable for the Pens fans to predicts a Pen's win.

Shows lots of levelheaded posting, in fact a good number of these fans are worried about what they predict to be a Wings cup.

From everything I see and hear and watch about Detroit, I feel like they

will be to this years Pens, what Ottawa was to last years Pens.

I just cannot see us beating them and I actually fear a sweep by detroit.

I am totally a Pens fan, so this is not me wanting them to do poorly.

I am curious why so many of you think they are better than Detroit?

I want to be wrong..but, have you seen them play?

They are like a machine and honestly I am worried about the next round.

The Detroit team seems faster, tougher, and at a pace many steps up from all the teams who have played so far.

I don't blame them, anyone who played Philly would probably lock out their forums. Philly fans can be downright nasty and ignorant. I had family go to a game in Philly in the Montreal series and witness grown men push a little 10 year old kid because he had on a Montreal jersey and then proceed to try and start a fight with his parents, all while others were throwing garbage at any person in a Montreal jersey they saw....they are pure class.

It's true that the reason the Pens board is currently closed is due to classless Cryers trolls . The mods locked it just after our series over the Rangers, and I expect the board to be open once the current series is over. Comments on our board have already identified Wings fans as generally reasonable and it's also been my experience here so far.

I also recognize that some of the comments in the Wings thread over there are quite idiotic. We have more than our fair share of puck bunnies, but it's generally just plain homerism and excitement. There's no doubt we haven't faced anything like Detroit yet (especially the depth on D) and you seem to be peaking, which is even scarier.

Based on some of the stuff I've been reading here, however, many will be surprised when they find that the Pens are much more than a 3-man team you can roll. We're going to put up a good fight (assuming we make it to the finals). I look forward to some good discussions along the way, with a little trash talk mixed in of course.

I'd wish you luck for the rest of the Stars series but, frankly, we'd like to see it drawn out to 7 with several OTs. So I'll just wish you get Franzen back soon and that no one else goes down.

P.S. I am incredibly jealous over the number and coolness of your emoticons. We have like, 20 total. Pathetic.

I don't know about their boards, but I find that it's always worst when you first start posting in another forum. Then you can identify to good posters and the trolls and adjust accordingly.

Not too sure why you guys wanna be members of the opposing teams forums... for one, you gotta know that the educated hockey fans who say "the Wings are a great team, if its the Wings vs. Pens in the Finals, it'll be a close series" are few and far between. I mean, majority of Wings fans or Pens fans are gonna be biased and think their team is better. If you feel like getting into pointless conversations and debates, I guess thats your thing.

Same goes for all the link posting to stuff on their boards...

Here's a GREAT idea, (as someone already pointed out) just DONT read it! Again, of course their fans are gonna say "we don't need to worry about the Wings" or "the Wings haven't played anyone", etc.

Here's all anyone needs to know...

IF (that is a huge key word here) the Stanley Cup Finals is a battle between the Wings vs. the Pens...

a. It's the #1 vs. #2 teams respectably.

b. Neither the Wings nor Pens have taken out a Cup favorite.

c. Our sweep of the Avs is near identical to their sweep of the Sens.

d. The Wings have a great offense with a better defense. The Pens have a great defense with a better offense.

e. Osgood has proven himself but is a bit older and hasn't won a Cup in.. what? 9 years now?

Fleury has proven himself but is young and could crack come the Finals

f. The Wings: 11-3. The Pens 11-2 (respectably)

g. The Wings have Dats and Z. The Pens have Crosby and Malkin

h. Wings have Franzen (who i'd imagine to be back in the Finals) and the Pens have Hossa.

Honestly, to me, it's a total freaking toss up. I truly think the Wings take it in 7. And the ONLY reason we take it in 7 is because we have the overall experience and have obviously learned from our lessons over the past couple season.

So, again, IF it is a Wings vs. Pens series... Here is to what I think could be one of the most entertaining, exciting, 'edge of your seats' Playoff hockey anyone has seen in a VERY long time!
