I say good for him. He could make a pretty good chunk of change selling octopi, but he chooses to support his team.

how is ruining someone else's fun/tradition supporting your team?

he is being an ass out of spite.

What the hell are you talking about?! Do you give a s*** about any Pittsburgh traditions? WHY would they care about ours?

If someone around here stopped selling Alberta beef to Alberta residents when Calgary was in town, would you have been mad about that?

Get real.

lol I love the gamesmanship this time of year. Good for him. All in good fun.

I'm pretty sure there is more than one place to buy an octopus in Pitt. Also, why not just buy a cheap cooler, fill it with ice, and put a couple octopi in it before you leave? Do they go bad?

Good idea. This opens the door for an octopi blackmarket. Anyone going to Pittsburgh for the games, buy some octopi in Detroit, put them in a cooler, and sell them to Wings fans going to the game. Make it happen, people!

the Penguins don't even have any traditions for me to give a s*** about, man, unless you count Talbot playing grab ass with Fleury before games.

and maybe I would care about this Alberta beef, what's it to you?

Oh, the octopi will find a way onto the Igloo ice... They can't stop it, they can only hope to contain it.

 So true. They're like zombies. They'll keep coming. The only question is how many will you get off before they catch you! :P

If Pittsburgh get swept in this series, they have no one to blame but that guy. DO NOT TAUNT THE OCTOPUS!!!

Edited for mental fail on my part.

Would you seriously think it's OK if a Predators fan chucked a catfish on the Joe's ice?

Anyway, Matt's right.....one fishmonger in the city is not going to stem the flood. Hell, his octopus might still end up on the ice....like so:

(Wings fan from Ohio walks into the market.)

Wings fan: One octopus, please. (flashes Ohio license.)

Fish guy: Are you a Wings fan?

Wings fan: Um, no.

Fish guy: That'll be $40.

It was nice of they guy to compliment Detroit fans.

Now will someone please get the image out of my head of a guy in a trench coat lurking around the parking lots saying "psst, hey, buddy, wanna buy an octopus"?

I must say, in last year's second round against San Jose I was seriously impressed by a shark thrown onto the ice in game... 3 I think? It wasn't at the Joe but I wouldn't have minded either way, it's an octopus ripoff but the shark they threw was ******* HUGE. I've gotta give kudos for sneaking that thing in.

Yeah but, that catfish thing is so stupid, it doesn't even mean anything, Hopefully we never hear of it again past this season.

Plus, it's a ******* catfish. Octopuses are way bad-asser.
