Wow Therrien is pathetic, I'd be embarrassed if I was a Pens fan. Hopefully he'll keep on pissing and moaning instead of addressing what's really wrong with their game so Wings can send his whiny ass golfing in four. If obstruction means preventing the opposition from scoring then yes Wings are pretty damn good at it!

This is really starting to annoy me. It's a reason I cannot stand French hockey players, they run there mouths and never back it up (save for Vinny Lecavalier of course.) First it's Ribeiro, we all know about him. Now it's Maxime Talbot, who is a dirty cheap shotter, slashing Hudler for a minute and a half before the game ended was real nice. Then claiming Ozzie is a diver and we arent playing soccer? It's just pissing me off how much these friggin idiots say, and how the Wings say nothing. This can only be bad for them, I'm sure on the whiteboard before game 3 will be some of these quotes, I really hope we sweep these guys and hopefully Talbot gets his. I also find it funny the Penguins are accusing us of diving when they are well known divers...

You really want to get into a debate on the slashes, trips, holds, goalie interference and cheapshots going on Mr. Therrien?

Give me a f***in' break. Trying to light a fire under his guys and/or deflecting attention away from them in what have been two THOROUGH beatings already is hilarious. But straight up lying makes you seem pathetic.

And also, how about getting off the bandwagon of pro-Crosby idiots who REFUSE to be truthful. Crosby has been INVISIBLE in this series. His whining - not soo much. Yet we keep hearing and reading about how Evgeni Malkin is to blame for the Pens being down 2-0. Their captain? Sssh. He's THE future of the game. Off-limits. Pul-leeze!!!!!!!:thumbdown:

I'll admit that I was wrong about Crosby. I always thought people unfairly hated him, but now I can see why.

He's a little, whiny punk, who shouldn't be the captain of a pee-wee hockey team. His team has been thrashed in this series, yet all he can do is blame the refs, who took a clean goal away from the Wings in game 1. The NHL should not heavily market a crybaby like this, until he grows up and takes some responsibility. Apparently he still thinks they're playing the Ottawa Senators instead of the Wings.

And I still can't believe he called someone else a diver. After Floppa and Kariya, Crosby is the biggest diver in the league.

I would agree with that statement. Sometimes I wonder if he's going to be called for it.

I've seen him leave his feet like once. He gives the illusion of leaving his feet for the hit beause he often does afterward, once the hit is already made, but while making the hit he is usually on his feet but the velocity of it all and the contact with the other player causes him to leave the ice.

I feel like this has been said a few times on here, in the blogs, by the writers, etc. but I think it warrants repeating: We are definitely out-playing and out-classing them, but most importantly, they are being out-coached and out-captained.

Beyond the pressers, I really loved VS providing all the shots of Therrien and Crosby during the game. Why? Because rarely were either of them talking to their team. Instead, they were running their mouths to the refs. Sure, maybe that's going to score you a PP or two. But if you can't score on the PP, who are you going to talk to then? The refs, apparently.

Also, I sincerely hope there is more being said in the Penguins locker room than either Therrien or Crosby are saying in their pressers. If not, this series is going to be a sweep. It might also do Therrien well to think about the detriment he's causing the youth of his team by refusing to say, "We are not playing well." or "They are playing better." or even, "We need to play better." (Hell, Babs is saying the last one, and some are saying this is the best they've ever seen the Wings play.) While I didn't think choosing Crosby for captain was a smart choice, it was an even worse choice under the "leadership" of Therrien. While Crosby may have been a whiner coming into Pittsburgh, it can be assumed that no one is telling him to do any different.

I completed a thesis in Sport Psych last year on how college and professional athletes learn from their coaches. The most consistent finding was that elite athletes learn more about what not to do from "bad" coaches than about what to do from "good" coaches. (Take from that what you will.) I don't like Crosby, and I'm quickly losing any respect for him that I had been convinced I needed to have for "The Next One," but he's young and probably still impressionable and being impressed in the worst possible way. Hopefully he'll eventually get out of this situation saying, "Man, if I learned one thing from Therrien, it was not to..." If only because I don't think I, along with many NHL fans, want to listen to him ***** and moan for the next 15+ years.

Does anyone have a link where I can watch the entire post game conference? I'd appreciate it.

I was just READING terrians comments and they were pretty pathetic. It's sad that the coach is crying about everyhting. But that's ok. Let that team cry and whine right out of the playoffs...

If they don't want to see Osgood fall down, then dont' go near him. Simple as that.

nhl.tv and then click on :jump to: at the top for specific team news, most of it should be on there.

only seen clips last night but got to watch the full presser today, it was pathetic. Face it Therrien you had it easy up to now, your playing a team that fires on all sides of the puck. The Wings are beating you with skill not but diving.

QFT

And like has been mentioned, it was really obvious during the game that Crosby and Therien were spending every stoppage whining from the bench. At one point (one of the 4on4s?) I thought Therien was going to start crying

I used to actually think that Therrien was a good coach. The media portrayed him so well, but this is just like Jim Playfair and Calgary all over again.

He is completely focusing on the wrong things and distracting his team. Maybe Osgood did dive, but the part of Osgood's game he should be worrying about is the part where Osgood stops EVERY SINGLE SHOT.

Maybe Detroit does obstruct (personally I haven't seen it), but somehow Dallas managed to get around it with forechecking and cycling in the offensive zone. Tell that to your team instead.

I will admit that I think the reporter set him up for the Kronwall question, but when your team needs to win 4 of the next 5, stop focusing on Kronwall's technique and start worrying about the fact that he's able to make these hits and that it's causing his offense to choose between playing timidly and getting laid out.

Moral of the story: Aren't you glad we have Mike Babcock?

You know I think beating my team in 5 got to their heads especially the way they steamrolled us in the last game... I really think that they thought things would be that easy in the finals..but what they fail to realize is that the Flyers overacheived in the playoffs even we fans never expected to even GET to the ECF..we were the underdog against the "Cinderella" Caps where the lovefest was almost as bad..then underdogs to the Habs...

add to that the Flyers are still a work in progress, there are tweaks yet to be made to fine tune the team for a legitimate cup run...

add to that look at the defense they played against when they played us:

TImonen out but for one game

Coburn out for two games

Jason Smith with two torn rotator cuffs

Hatcher , slow as a tortoise, and with two bad knees and a broken tibia

Modry whose mind was anywhere but the games (his father passed away right before the start of the series)

it's no wonder they steamrolled us!!

Bu now they have to face the likes of Lindstrom, Lilja,Rafalski, Stuart...

they have not faced such a talented group throughout their playoff run...and your forwards are proving that they can strike just as quickly as the Crosby and Malkins of the league..then add in Osgood who is completely in their heads now and things look bleak for them...

It's no surprise that they are expecting more calls, their PP has been their bread and butter..and with a PP unit like Crosby,HOssa,Malkin,Staal,Gonchar..it's easy to see why..but again they have not faced a team as defensively sound as the Wings..and now that they have...their ace in the hole (PP) is not producing...

Excellent!

Make excuses Therrien and not address the real problem that you team is being out played in all aspects of the game. Same goes for Crosby as well.

I thought a team is supposed to be able to beat the other team with 5 on 5....am I missing something here?

Why is Crosby and coach demanding more PP's? They are getting plenty of them! I admit I have never paid much if any attention to the after game interviews....even thru all the other cups we won....but this demanding of PP's is totally pissing me off :ranting: Just WHO do they think they are...."unless the rules change" WHAT? In the middle of the Finals the rules need to change for Pittsburg! Do these people actually say these things....out loud?....in front of cameras? Incredible.

What a bunch of whiny, gutless, *******. They can't score a freaking goal, but it's not their fault. The Wings must be cheating. No credit where credit is due, just a bunch of crying about obstruction and acting.

They ought to be embarrassed. Not only by their play, but their cheap shots and crying about it afterwards.

Oh, and the fact that Roberts got his ass kicked by a perennial Lady Byng contender/winner.

I don't think you can say it any better than that. What a turd. This is a guy caught in the headlights by suprise and he doesn't have the brains to even stay composed. Better luck next game f*** face.

Good stuff. I aree 100%.

The best coach I ever played under as a hockey player was the one who not only knew more about the game than all the other ones, but also made it a point to call out players for each and every one of the faults in their respective games. People thought he was a monster, but you know what? He got us a national title. Not too shabby.

Having said that, I think some of Therrien's current detractors are being a little provincial (or maybe just plain old naive) in their criticism of him. It's pretty clear what he's doing, which is deflecting attention/blame away from his players in the public arena. I'm sure that he's been taking a different, much harder line behind closed doors.
