However, you have exceeded my expectations. I apologize for my attitude and I have renewed faith in you. Samuellson - You were in my doghouse for a while for your play. I had my doubts about them, but in my defense that was before Mule suddenly realized how talented he was. One of those who pissed and moaned from 1999 until 2001 when you were sent packing to the Islanders. One of those who didn't "get it" that you were hurt in the 1999 Av's series and we had pitiful D and not enough firepower in the 2000 Av's series. I was one of those who blamed you, not the TEAM, but you. Chris, I want to humbly apologize for every taunt, jeer and "Osgoat" I threw your way. I was wrong. I used to say that in 1998 the Wings were on the Konstantinov's Revenge tour and that Norm Maracle could have backstopped them to the Cup that year. I was wrong. I used to say that once you went to some other team, whether it was the NY Isles or the St. Louis Blues......you'd be exposed for the fraud you were. I was wrong. Ozzie, you stood tall this season accepting the role of a journeyman back up. You stepped in when Dom went down and showed the NHL that you were not only the BEST backup in the business.....you were also a legit #1. You sat on the bench in the first round through Game 4 when Uncle Mike tapped you on the shoulder. Again, you stepped in and never phuckin' looked back. Ozzie, you are the man. I was wrong. Huds - I always wanted you to be a traded but you pulled through and played great. Sammy - Oh wait I have bashed you on here I wanted you to be traded as well cause of being a puck hug. Hasek - you ALWAYS scared the crap out of me whenever you'd come out to play the puck and i would always call you an idiot to stay in your net haha. and thats it. I thought you were too old and too slow and not the addition we should have gotten. I was wrong. Well, you are old.. nothing I can do about that.. But you have the heart of 20-year old and you played for the Red Wings like you never left 18 years ago. However, as a hockey player, I just can't count my chickens before they hatch. I have been on the flip side of a comeback and it hurts bad. In short, lets hope the Wings make it 31. As for atoning, I hope that everyone on this board comes out and admits their wrongdoings. You can call it a confession of sorts. ...I am probably the biggest whiner when it comes to Ken Holland. I still wish we could've gotten Fedorov, but, after I heard that Columbus wanted Filpulla, was glad Ken Holland didn't give him up. I am still not the biggest Ken Holland fan, but I cannot argue his hockey smarts. I guess that if I were that hockey smart, I would be a GM too. It was a great job by Holland NOT making the Fedorov deal and I apologize to all the Red Wings faithful on here that I spewed a lot of junk about the non-trade... ...I guess if I want my official Lets Go Wings.com "Fan" status back I have to start new and be on probabtion! I'll take it. I am still hoping Fedorov comes home to finish his career (ala Dallas Drake) and hope that Holland can find room on his Stanley Cup roster for him, but I will not( and this is a promise) whine about it if he doesn't re-sign him. More importantly for me now, I hope Holland finds room to keep Stuart since I believe he was invaluable to this team during this Championship run. Hopefully he doesn't cost too much, for obviously Zetterberg is gonna get top dollar wen he signshis contract. Offsides 21 Report post Posted June 5, 2008 I always had faith in this team and in Ozzie in general so I don't have apologies that way....BUT....I didn't think we'd win this year with all the injuries and with no secondary scoring pickup at the deadline...so I will apologize for doubting Ken Holland and for doubting the Wings via injuries. The only Red Wing I think I criticized and said would prohibit us from getting the Cup got pulled and put on the bench so I still think I was right about that. I read that and laughed but yet that's how I felt ,I feel justice was served with Ozzie getting to carry the team to the Cup seeing he played so well during regular season and then the playoff's started and he got dumped on the bench. So i'm happy he got what he deserved. overall about the team and everything else I don't have anything to apologyse about on here . I always have faith in the Wings . I constantly (and still do) thought Chelli was a real shade of his former self and shouldnt really feature in first 6 dmen duties..... however with that said, he didnt say anything about not playing.... on interview in channel 5 here in UK he pretty much said he was happy not to play because the wings were winning. Kass 7 Report post Posted June 5, 2008 I didn't think Ozzy would ever be starting goalie material again when he came back after the lockout.
