55fan 5,133 Report post Posted June 9, 2008 This is cool. I'll have to set the VCR for this. At least it won't be like last year when I almost got kicked out of a bar when Pronger was on one of those late shows and I expressed my feelings about him. Fortunately the bartender was a Pens fan and gave me a free drink to settle down.
Jwo 7 Report post Posted June 9, 2008 Yes, yes it is. For those of us who are unfortunate enough to live outside the Midwest it was the very show we were cut to about 10 minutes after the Conn Smythe trophy presentiation. Thanks. That is stupid of NBC too cut away in your area.

Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted June 9, 2008 http://youtube.com/watch?v=-d_kwmJ2xOc From '98 on Letterman. I miss him. I'd love to see him owning the team or something one day. Or even commish. There's someone the fans won't boo.
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted June 9, 2008 I use to watch Leno alot. I think he's pretty funny. It's not going to be anything special tho. Pronger and Giguere i think were on last year.

McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted June 9, 2008 Leno kind of disappointed me on Thursday night. I rarely watch but happened to catch the monologue and he started out by congratulating the DTW on winning the Stanley Cup. Then he proceeded on to a 20-year-outdated rip on Detroit and rioters/fires. Some kind of lame reference to celebrating the Cup. Not that I expect anything more from comedians, but using the Cup win to get a few rips on Detroit just kind of pissed me off - and I haven't even lived in Michigan for years..... As long as Kwame stays in office, I don't have a problem with people ripping Detroit. Besides it's how most late night jokes are told: in a mocking fashion. Besides it's how most late night jokes are told: in a mocking fashion. Late night talk shows are never funny, at least the hosts aren't. They tell the same lame jokes, wait for the fans to get it, and bask in their own glory. I never understood why they were so popular. It'll be fun to see Ozzie and Lids banter, though. NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted June 9, 2008 Hmm, my DVR isn't showing them as guests, but they're probably a last-minute addition, so I'm not surprised. But I'll be recording it for sure. What's weird is even the website isn't updated to show Lids and Oz yet.

I agree, at least the monologues aren't funny. I find some of the bits they do hilarious. Letterman's Top 10 and Leno's Jay Walking are very amusing

So it looks like they will be the second guess.....God I hate Justin Timberlake. He's playing the Kings' goalie in The Love Guru with Mike Myers. So I'm sure he'll get to fondle the cup with his filthy boy-band fingers. Ah well - can't wait to see Lids and Oz!

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted June 10, 2008 I hope they don't get shafted and be the second guests... Unfortunately, you have to look at it from their perspective. How many people watching the show tonight know who Justin Timberlake is as compared to how many know Lidstrom or Osgood combined. Don't get me wrong, it still sucks to have to play second-fiddle to that asshat.

Lilja should have been invited so that he could destroy Justin Timberlake on national television, with all those stupid girls screaming in terror as Andreas pounds poor Justin over and over again into a bloody pulp.
