Zion 93 Report post Posted August 5, 2008 My favorite line was hearing that after he picked #96, Scotty Bowman saying "He should have picked #98, because that's the year he's shipped out of here. That was in 97, IIRC.

Gizmo 21 Report post Posted August 5, 2008 I was going through some of my hockey cards and I never knew I had his rookie card, what was more interesting is that it has him wearing # 15. Holmstrom started his 2nd year with the Red Wings wearing #15, but switched to #96 when the Wings acquired Dmitri Mironov who took the #15.

StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted August 5, 2008 Yeah his teeth were bad. And oh how that 98 playoff made him famous. Good thing Doug Brown was hurt and Homer got to play with Fedorov and Kozlov for most of the playoffs. I doubt he would have played other wise. Gilchrist would have played in front of him knowing Scotty.

Mickeyisms Rule! 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2008 How many hockey players can actually say their smile improved over the years. Probably most of them. When the teeth get knocked out/chipped, etc. the dentist isn't going to make some snaggle-toothed partial.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) I really don't get the point of hockey cards, what are you going to do get together and play Magic with them sometime? Only if they change the cards: Niklas Kronwall Detroit Red Wings 5,5 Flying, Trample The Joe is Red Mana, of course. Not sure what a Homer card would be. Probably some sort of an attacking wall. Probably some sort of an attacking wall. as someone who used to play the game myself, i can only imagine how hilarious an NHL magic game would be. of course, if they ever made the game, we'd all ***** about how all the redwings' stats were too low. i'm not sure if kronner would have flying, but he would def. have trample. and i think instead of using photos they should still have artists draw them, but in all sorts of glorious situations, fighting archangels and stuff. haha... i think the goalies would be walls. homer would have a relatively low attack, probably, but then an enchantment that would be something about him screening the goalie which would up his attack enormously. of course, the other player could just cast an instant called "the homer effect" which would instantly nullify the goal. it would also read: "if giggy is under your control, tap giggy and bury holmstrom." okay, i should seriously stop.
