Gnredwing 10 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Just wondering what everyone thinks will be the offensive line combinations, or wish what the line combinations will look like this upcoming season.....heres mine 2 cents.... Line 1: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Holmstrom. Line 2. Hossa, Fillpula, Franzen Line 3. Cleary, Hudler, Draper Line 4. Maltby, Helm, Kopecky I am sure a lot of people will say Hossa should be on the first line, but I think the line of Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Homer was the best in the league last year, so I would keep it as is to start the season anyway. What do you guys think!!!
#19=Legend 29 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Hossa-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Filpulla-Zetterberg-Franzen Hudler-Draper-Cleary Maltby-Helm-Samuelsson Those are what I would like to see. I really would like to see Dats Zata and Hossa play on the PP too.
Slave 31 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 hossa-dats-homer huds - Z - Franzen Cleary - Fil - Sammy Maltby-draper-kopecy or else dats - Z - homer Hossa - Fil - Franzen huds- Draper - Cleary Maltby - Kopecy - Sammy assuming maltby and kopecy make the team or else it could go helm, abby or even leino

RedWingedKitten 9 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Franzen - Filppula - Hossa Cleary - Draper - Samuelsson Hudler - Helm - Kopecky I second this. Franzen sits in front of the net while Hossa and Flipper snipe the net minder. And i'm pretty sure Hossa plays right wing. (?)
StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Holmstrom Franzen - Filppula - Hossa Cleary - Draper - Samuelsson Hudler - Kopecky - Maltby McCarty or Downey being #13. I think Helm starts in GR because they have that option with him. But we'll see. Maybe he plays great in camp. The top two lines could be different if they break up Dats and Z. Which I wouldn't at first. Filppula finally has some wingers with him that can score, Franzen didn't show up until late last season. So if the Mule can keep kicking and you give him Hossa on the other side thats great plus you know the top line brings it every night. Filppula - Datyuk - Homer Franzen - Zetterberg - Hossa
DatsyukownzU13 1 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) My Wishful Thinking Lineup Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Hossa Franzen - Filppula - Cleary Hudler - Draper - Holmstrom Maltby - Helm - Samuelsson My Realistic Lineup (still wishful with Sammy on the 4th and Helm on 3rd, but I like keeping Malts and Draper together) Hossa - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Franzen - Zetterberg - Filppula Hudler - Helm - Cleary Maltby - Draper - Samuelsson Kinda limits the checking line role, but every line has a player that could potentially be a goal scorer (plus we limit Sammy's awfulness). Guest mindfly Report post Posted August 6, 2008 How come you always put holmström on the 1st line, yeh he makes space for z and dats but there are 1-2 other players that could do that as well... he's the worst stickhandler ive seen and the only way he can score is to re-direct in front of the net or get a rebound in front of the net. Because he's more useful on a top line than he is on a 4th line.

GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Franzen - Zetterberg - Hossa Fillppula - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Maltby - Draper - Cleary Hudler - Helm - (Any Enforcer) Guys like Sammy, Mac, Kopecky and Abdelkalder would all be great fillers in case of injury. Guest Dump-N-Thump Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Line 1 - Franzen - Datsyuk - Hossa Line 2 - Filpulla - Zetterberg - Holmstrom Line 3 - Hudler - Cleary - Samuelsson Line 4 - Maltby - Draper - Kopecky 13th - McCarty Pairing 1 - Lidstrom - Rafalski Pairing 2 - Stuart - Kronwall Pairing 3 - Ericsson - Quincey 7th - Meech 8th - Chelios Why Line 1? - Franzen is our best goalie screening player.. Datsyuk is less of a health risk then Zetter, and a bonified super star like Hossa shouldn't be on nobody's 2nd line. Why Line 2? - Val is all potential he has great speed, produces. but on the wing i think he has less responsibility with the puck which will do his confidence wonders.. Zetter has been kind of Back injured riddled lately same with Homer, So with decreased 2nd line minutes, hopefully will keep them on the ice and not the press box. Why Line 3? - Hudler as much as i dislike the guy, He is an offensive weapon.. Cleary has proven he can handle face offs fairly well.. and Sammy is well Sammy, This line would produce.. Why Line 4? - We're so stacked our energy line, becomes our Shutdown line and our Energy line becomes non-existent. Maltby,Draper are aging, with 7-8 Minutes a night, will hopefully keep the roaring and ready to go. Kopecky supposed to be the Drake replacement can learn a few things on a line with the 2 best pure defensive forwards in the game --- Mac as an extra, Just because we need the fighter. a guy who can single handedly stick up for the teammates and be the sheriff on the bench. always chirping in other teams dirty players Osgood Howard
