Zetterberg out vs. Vancouver; Helm recalled

I heard Holland on XM 204 Home Ice when the subject came up and he seemed almost caught off guard by the question at first. He did say it was nothing major.

To be honest, Hank has looked like he's playing injured to me. He was impressive in the preseason but he hasn't looked that great since the season started. Datsyuk, on the other hand, has looked great, although the stats so far would suggest they're playing roughly equal.

He just looks sub-par to me. He's having a slow start. No lame excuses please...

I think I would rather see Z sit tomorrow and rest. Why take a chance early in the season? So if McCarty practiced he may be ready for Thursday otherwise it looks like Meech is the subsitute. Z took a couple of hard hits in Carolina game. I would hate to see Hordichuk hit Z......although unlikely.

I know Babcock said he didnt want to bring anyone up from Grand Rapids, but this could be a chance for Ville Leino to get a chance on a top two line? maybe we hold off on bringing Z back tonight and play Ville?

They have recalled Helm (turns out Leino would put them over the cap for now).

Sucks about Hank, hopefully its minor and he gets it taken care of soon. I think Helm is going to be great for us in years to come, but since we lost a scorer, wouldn't it make more sense to call up Leino and put him on the third line not only to replace some of the offense we lost when Z is out, but also to give the guy a boost and maybe convince him to stick around. Maybe its just me...

You see, that's the trickery that is Pavel Datsyuk. He sneaks up on you, takes a bite here and there and BAM! At the end of the year he leads the team in scoring.........again. He's a sneaky bugger.

And precious Pasha?

Has looked great. In fact, his line has looked great. You know, the #1 line.

Watch a game every once in awhile why don't 'cha.

Lines:

Hossa - Datsyuk - Holmstrom

Franzen - Filppula - Samuelsson

Hudler - Draper - Cleary

Maltby - Helm - Kopecky

At this point, its a complete waste to have Draper centering Hudler and Cleary. At this point in Drapers career, the offensive skill of Helm vs Draper is a wash, if not in Helms favor.

I still don't understand why Kopecky is around, this guy doesn't do anything...and while I'm sure bringing this up will rile somebody, I've yet to see a coherent argument as to what he's bringing to the team. 12 points in 77 games last season, nothing so far this year other than a penalty.

That line was pretty good in the playoffs when Hudler and Draper were leading the team in scoring very early on in the Nashville series.

Kind of like Z's 3 points thus far to Dats' 2?

All the while not having Hossa on his line and not to mention getting second unit PP time (and defensive pairings) compared to Dats' top unit PP time and defensive pairings.

The difference is Z is the better player and just isn't playing his best, so he should be even FURTHER ahead of Datsyuk in scoring. Datsyuk, meanwhile, has been performing his best so obviously 2 points is all we should have expected from him at this point.

Don't forget Mac, Dats is also getting more PK time as well. Eva's probably having a coronary over that one.

Pasha = 1 point here, 1 point there, after 82 games = Another Wings scoring title for 08/09.

He'll never play a full 82 game season.

Unfortunately you are probably correct.

I'd hope so playing alongside OMG Hossa.

Sidenote: Your reply didn't have much to do with what I was stating. In all seriousness and with no ill-will intended, would you care to comment?
