I hate games that go like this x_x but I'll take the W either way. I had to leave detailed offlines for my girl Lisa, she's stuck working tonight. :(

I still have faith for Hudler. I'd take him over Z in a shootout >.> Not that I don't love Hank n' all... but MAN he's gotta figure something out with his shoot out percentages. I just don't know what the deal is.

Anyway.. Hudler got a goal tonight. I'm ultimately happy :) But I'm still concerned about Franzen and his knee :( I hope we'll get something from post-game that someone can post here. Center Ice isn't post-game friendly.

What you're seeing with Hossa here is our first real natural goal scorer (unless you count Franzen) since Shanahan, except that Hossa is a far more complete player than Shanahan ever was.

Eh it depends on how you look at it. Hossa has the defense advantage by far, but Shanahan fought and hit like a truck as well. I think the biggest difference is that Hossa is in the middle of his prime, and a lot of our memories of Shanahan are him leaving his prime.

I want to call that game exciting, I really do, but I just can't.. it was frustrating. I don't debate the calls on the Wings, as they were all technically penalties.. I just debate the lack of calls going the other direction when there were some very blatant ones.

That said, I'll take 2 points and I'm glad the Wings were able to overcome adversity -- that's always a good sign (despite the sloppy play in the defensive zone so far this year).

I'd take Shanny over Hossa without really having to think hard about it.

I'd take Hossa for this team and Shanny for the mid 90s-2002 Wings. The teams were/are built differently, and each of those players fits better into those respective teams (though either of them could fit in to some degree to the skills in their prime)

Yea true, good point. Both teams are built and coached different. Shanny is a better fit for Yzerman's team and Hossa is a better fit for Datsyuk's/Zetterberg's/Lidstrom's team.

But overall, if both guys were in their prime, I'd take Shanny.

whistles went here and there but good teams find a way to win in spite of calls.

Those calls were penalties no need to whine here like Pen's coach.

the late hooking call was BS. other than that I can't complain.

THis is crazy. Just a few games ago some were saying Hossa was a dud, and now he's the best player on our team and has saved our asses twice now.

Things to work on:

1) Defensive positioning.

2) On-ice communication

Glad to get the 2 points.

Still frustrating to watch, always find we have these brilliant spells of fantastic red wings hockey... then poof, it dissipates. Epic fail to the refs.

Hossa: " Fk that deke sh!t, Bulin wall this. " *Rocket*

*Props to the O*

P.s. please tell me that Sammy meant to pass to Huds.

With all the calls going against the Wings this year, and at the worst possible times, you have to wonder if maybe Oz shoulda kept his trap shut after Game 6 of the Finals.

Maybe Colin and Gary didn't like his comments about how the League tried to "hand" the Game to the Pens, but the Wings wouldn't allow it, and how the League was "sour" that they wouldn't get a Game 7.

That may have been a good idea, but I'd say 90% to 95% of us Red Wing fans agree with Ozzie's comments.

Wings fans agree with Ozzie's comments because he was bang on in his assessment.

But the fact of the matter is, you can't walk up to a guy and say:

"Dude, that is one fat, UGLY girl you married. What were you thinking?"

even if it IS 100% true.

Capice?

I can't believe Hossa's shot. Lol. That's just sick. How can you aim a slapshot that accurately with so much power and such a quick wind-up? It was millimeter perfect. ******* hell.

I'm really glad we got that win. I can't believe we're 6-1-1 with so much room for improvement. All Wings fans must be ecstatic at the moment, right?
