i personally would rather see Ericsson in stead of lilja, meech or lebda, but i doubt swapping him for one the guys i said would happen. We need new d-men all together.

New defensemen or a little bit of patience.

I would make a couple minor changes.

Swap Hudler with Samuelsson or Filppula.

Swap Kronwall or Stuart with Rafalski.

Your love affair with Hudler has got to go. Every time he's on the 2nd line he fails miserably.

Sammy isn't that great either, but at this point he's playing better than Hudler.

Burn!

Hudler has been borderline useless all season.

When Franzen returns, a 4th line of Helm-Draper-Downey would be great as an energy line...

Time for Flip to shine. I'm glad to see Lebda out of there. Lilja was allowed a poor 2 games since he has been one of the best D-Men out there. I agree that a fourth line of Draper and Helm along with either Mac or Downey would be nice.

send D-Mac down n bring up Helm. Also get Lilja out of there

If dmac is sent down, were still on the hook for all of his salary, as he signed a 1 year deal when he was over 35. we'd have to waive/trade him to be relived of his hit, which isnt gonna happen, unless we trade like him and a 5th for a 6th rounder, seeing as he would hurt a team more than anything

Do you even watch the games? Hudler has 5 pts in 4 games and has been playing great, generatig chances. Also both filpulla and sammuelson are more suited for a checking line rol than he.

Good news. Meech deserves his shot, and I wish he'd be anchoring the 2nd PP unit as well. What I dont get, is how great Cleary was playing, and he gets demoted. Now, Filppula deserves to move up and get more playing time, but Samuelsson does not. He's proven time and again he's great at playing the 3rd line role. Besides, Filppula-Zetterberg-Cleary was a combo for a set of 5 games or something last year and played great, but I'm not gonna complain, just because I love when Drapes and Danny play together. All together the lines look better, Helm in Kopecky would make it look alot better, but beggers cant be choosers.

That rule only applies for multi-year deals and then only for the years after the first.

Shouldn't be too surprised. The entire defense has been underperforming, but Lebda seems to be the one that has been noticeable the most unfortuantely.

Personally I'd put Cleary on the 2nd line w/ Zetterberg and Samuelsson but that's probably why I'm not a sports coach and I usually talk stuff out of my rear end when discussing sports. :P

imagine if kpoecky hadnt torn his acl (or whatever happened) and he was in place of helm in the playoffs :puke:

You never know, he was playing some good hockey back before his injury, led forwards on the team in hits at the time of his injury, yadda yadda yadda. His play late last year was much better than what's going on right now.
