The comments to that article are amazing. How have humans managed to survive with these people having access to computers? I shake my head at that.

I didnt' read them all, but this ignorant comment caught my eye - it was one of the first ones:

WOW Isn't that sad, the most exciting thing that hapened at a Hockey game happened inthe stands. Out of the six people attending, he fell on three of them!

If the person had any idea at all, they would have known that there was about 19,000 people at the game last night, about the same amount that have been there every game this season, which represents about 110% of normal seating capacity.

How long till betman bans beer from the game of hockey now... or at least mandates more netting must be used along with seat belts on all seats effective jan 1st 2009

glad he is okay!

I watched a guy fall down about 10 stairs in the upper bowl of the joe on saturday at the jeff Dunham show.. guess it didn't make news because it wasn't hockey... he was okay too!

I'm sure there were plenty of people there, but I would have a hard time caring about coming to see Atlanta play too...especially when the game ended 5-1.

I have seen more then my share of people falling down the stairs especialy at the Silver Dome but never seen any one go over a rail.

It's amazing that no one was seriously injured during this.

Glad everyone seems to be OK

Guest Shoreline

Didn't take long for Bettman to start taking blame in this debate as well.

Anyways, the concern of mine comes from my experience at the HP Pavilion where, in the upper deck, things are a bit tight in walking areas at the front, and maybe there isn't enough room for people to get by in the Sens arena as well. When one is a bit drunk they tend not to high step over things so as to keep their equilibrium. Maybe they could consider widening the walking path if possible.

Some of the stairs areas at a lot of places are pretty dangerous. Have any of you ever been to Philips Arena? While the sightlines from each seat are great because the seat below you is very low, if someone doesn't want to stand up to let you walk by it is very easy to just fall into the row below you...

I've also seen people on some other boards blame alcohol...but the guy wasn't drunk...he dropped his first beers of the night when he fell...

I hope someone took that woman's purse and smacked her in the head with it for leaving it in the aisle.

*sigh* Who takes a purse to a hockey game? All I need is my license, some cash, and a chapstick. People are stupid. I'm just glad that guy is ok.
