Commodore rips Babcock

You know what, Babs? Screw you for helping to shape me into the NHL player that I am today. Screw you for giving me the motivation to succeed and put myself on an NHL team's roster.

SCREW YOU!

Some funny parts here:

He admits he took a poor attitude to the minors, where he spent three or four nights a week drinking. The Ducks recalled Commodore twice, but he never played in a game.

"I drank more often than I worked out, but I really deserved to be a regular player on the Ducks."

Babcock traded Commodore to Calgary in a deal that brought forward Rob Niedermayer to Anaheim. The then-Mighty Ducks reached the Stanley Cup Finals that year, losing to New Jersey in seven games.

The coaches trade the players now?

Commodore's perceived injustice -- the kind that can be found in almost every NHL locker room -- adds intrigue to the Blue Jackets-Red Wings rivalry.

Wait...what rivalry?

"Grrrr, Mike helped shape me into a successful NHL player."

The mean man yelled at me :(

 well said, friends.

the only time i liked commodore was when he was beating the oilers in the SCF.

babcock wasn't GM, correct? how did he trade commodore. lastly, as you guys have mentioned he admits that his conditioning sucked and that he drank more than he worked out. and yet he's mad at babs for calling him out?

what he SHOULD be saying is, "wow, i respect that babs was real enough with me to show me where i needed improvement. without that kick in the ass, i probably wouldn't be the successful player that i am today." geez...

edit: spelling.

I've always liked how Commodore plays the game. So what if he has a grip with Babs. For every player who loves their coach like Kane did/does Savard, there are probably 30 who have a story similar to that of Commodore's.

Big deal.

Besides, Commodore has been traded a few times, that says something about a player.

Sidenote......is there a pattern here?

...he also has slammed Bryan Murray recently. I guess if you don't suck his d**k and tell him he is the best defensman in the league, better then that overrated Lidstrom and was the ONLY reason Carolina won the Cup that year, he calls you a bunch of names and pretty much thinks you don't know crap about hockey...

...hey Commodore, you were dead weight in Anaheim, Calgary AND Carolina, Bryan Murray didn't want you back. And my 10 year old could be the #1 defensman in Columbus so don't get too high on yourself. You couldn't be our 6th defensman in Detroit...

Hmm, Babcock and Murray. Also, Scotty Bowman probably glared at him one time over dinner and said some things to the media he didn't like, and I hear Jacques Demers cut him from his peewee team and said some things to the media he didn't like.

If only we could all use public newspaper and tv outlets to rant about our childish life experiences.

Anyone remember the quote from a former Wing (shanny maybe) about Bowman saying something like: You hate him 364 days out of the year, and on the 365th day your lifting the cup?!?!?

Same could be said about Babs.... just ask Hudler.

Hudler doesn't like Babs?

The funny part is he isn't the #1 defenseman in columbus. That's either Rusty Klesla when he's healthy or Kris Russell.

When Feds was there he was their best D-man :P

Well, his ankle is acting up - could be why Babs didn't play him as much last night.

Not just last night. Hudler has been producing like a 2nd liner(you could stretch 1st maybe) but with 3rd liner ice time.

The guy takes it in stride though and doesn't complain unlike Commie.
