How do you say pumpkin head in Finnish? :P

Kurpitsapää. Try to pronounce that one.

Ye olde story from when Jokinen first came to the NHL,a Finnish reporter asked Rob Blake if the LA teammates called him Chief (that was his nickname in Finland).

Rob Blake replied something like "Chief? Hell no,we call him pumpkin head"

is the Detroit Red Wings going to get anyone this year? I hope they do..... I heard Chris Neil or G. Roberts or Tomas Vok will you know... or someone else.... I hope they get someone... But Ken Holland did say that he may not do anything at all since he likes the team he already has...

Ken Holland please,,,,Make A Trade.....

The Leopold trade takes just under $400k from the Flames $1.1m space. I believe Jokinen will cost them about $1.3 give or take. Am I correct? They need to lose half a mil.

I'm not sure of the specifics of Calgary's cap position. But Leopold makes $1,500,000 this year.

Edit: Which is just under a prorated $350,000 cap hit, if my math is right.

Yeah, I'm just dividing contracts by four to get the rough pro-rated hits.

Make a trade for the sake of trading is not a good idea my friend.

If he can land a Roberts on the cheap, good move. Otherwise perhaps a goalie for a right price and no long term contract obligations.

Holland said no goalies and we don't need one. Not to mention it's inplausible.

The waiver is where the Wings will make a move, if we make one at all, methinks.

Wings won't make a trade to make a trade. If they find the right fit price, cap space and assets to give up, they'll do it. The only thing I see is a checker. They will not get a goalie. Who at the price of 1mil a year or so is going to so great that the wings would pick him up?

Everyone, the Wings aren't trading for a goalie. Aside from the fact that KH came out and said so, it doesn't make sense. An upgrade from our current goaltending situation would cost millions more than we can afford. You cannot get a 2-time Cup winning goalie for Osgood's price. So why would Kenny change that?

Making a trade for the sake of making one isn't a good strategy. I certainly don't want the wings to give up picks for a depth player.

Trust in Ken Holland. He will make the right call.

A checker is a possibility and clearly the most popular among the fans. But I think we'll move for a stay-at-home defenseman.
