miller76 463 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I've never said anything bad about him. I just think it's disgusting some of the treatment he's gotten around here. He's usually the punchline around here. He's always the first one to be offered up in a trade here on LGW.
skacore 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Aside from the unfortunate Hossa injury, that was the most entertaining period of Red Wings hockey all year long.
gowings00 545 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Is Kopecky the site's whipping boy or something? It's hilarious hearing the comments on his SH goal. Not only is he the whipping boy, but he is also the whipping boy....wait...did I already say that?
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I told you guys Kopecky was a great player. I like you GMR, you make me laugh
Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Terrific job on the PK. Absolutely terrific. Stifled the Blues the whole time. Good period, though a few too many penalties for my liking...

adtthosa 5 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Great period to watch, aside from Hossa. It was nice to see Kopy get one for his buddy. Feels like a playoff game.

Carman 387 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) Can we get Kopecky A. Rod's cousin? I've never seen such a weak 6' 2" player. Did have a nice Shortie goal though. Good period. And best wishes to Hossa Edited March 4, 2009 by Carman

Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Okay everyone, Hossa is alright. You can unclench now. I want 2 more periods like the first one, although minus the injury and ticky-tack penalties.
sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Good lord what a game -- The Hossa incident had me panicking at first sight, I mean he went head first, and he went in hard. I actually called my mom and dad - demanded they turn on the game, and was still on the phone when the fight ensued. The fight mind you was a HW battle -- what a great tilt. Red Wings seemed to respond somewhat, seeing as though they hit the post twice immediately following when it was 4 on 4 -- I just wished they buried one. That brings me to Kopecky, and his goal -- all I have to say is wow. I admit I have criticized Kopecky quite a bit, however I have no problem eating a little crow and saying good god that was sick. And if that is a glimpse of what he could evolve into on a more full time basis then I will happily admit I was an idiot. I love Downey, I love this style of hockey, the only thing that is kinda a cloud over it all is Hossa. Hopefully we keep getting more feedback regarding his status, and more importantly, I am praying it isn't anything serious -- which thankfully, is beginning to better then worse given the circumstances. MotorCityKid were you joking when you made that post regarding Downey and his inability to prevent the Hossa incident? I think you're kidding but I wasn't sure -- you do realize there was nothing "dirty" or "cheap shot" about it don't you? Rather it was one of those fluke plays that happen every once in a long while in contact sports. Whether they are "intimidated" of Downey or not, who knows -- I can guarantee they respect the showing he put up against their #1 and that respect does cut down on cheap shots - it doesn't eliminate them, or set precedent forever, but make no doubt about it -- it gains respect of teamates and opponents alike. Vladifan 680 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 My god, you have more common sense than most people on this board! Some people here are calling for a suspension. The Blues player didn't do ANYTHING wrong and you saw him put a hand on Hossa as to say "my god I'm sorry!" No player (well except for a few exceptions) would do that with the intent to hurt another player. Now Polack is hurt!... Hope he is okay!... Yep he's okay. Just caught a high stick although they completely MISSED the one on Franzen With that said, my head is just not in this game right now. I hope and pray they win and the game looks like a real high tempo game but I just can't help hoping and praying for Hossa to be okay. As long as he is okay (which it looks like it having not lost consciousness and giving the crowd a wave) and as long as it's not long term (as long as he's in for the playoffs... I want his will and determination on this team come playoff time) then I'll be happy. Everyone say a prayer!... **Hope you're okay Hoss!... I'm praying for ya!** I tend to agree. It was a hideous, unfortunate slide into the boards headfirst for Hossa, but he was off balance and it wasn't that hard a hit. Nor could you call it boarding. I am sitting here praying that Hossa heals fast but I'm also guessing that Pollack feels very bad about the whole thing.

chrisyo 1 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Hoss is on his way to the hospital for precautionary reasons. Somebody earlier said if we had an enforcer in our lineup this wouldn't have happened. Umm, ain't Downey dressed?? Idiot. *edit* - Yeh Downey's just completed fight? Heavyweight? Hahahaha. Yeh, I bet the Blues are REAL intimidated about now, huh. I really hope you know you sound like a retard.
