Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 So... Kopecky. 1 goal, 2 assists and a +2 tonight. He's put 6 points up in his last 5 games. That's a damn nice stretch of hockey for someone almost everyone gave up on. Yeah- I'll eat my crow for saying Kopecky should be shown out of town. Turns out Kopecky needs confidence and a full season of play to really get up to speed. He looked great out there tonight and has looked great for a few weeks now. I just hope he can keep this play up until June

Pucks 66 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Yeah all you moron's step up and take you kick's to the clock weights. Or better yet ,learn the game so you don't post such stupid comments in the future.
Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Beat me to this thread...while I always wanted tot hink his minor league scoring touch wasen't just a fluke, this year I considered him our weakestplayer besides maltby now far. Now though, I'm having a feeling similar to the one I had about Franzen's scoring tear last year. Is this the time Kopecky Finally steps up? I'm not expecting like a top 6 forward skill of course, but if he started playing likea borderline second liner, i'd be estatic

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Honestly, he was secretly my favorite Wings player all along. I just hope no one took my posts about him to be an indication of me thinking that he was useless, or anything like that. I still say that he's afraid to fight though, and he didn't disprove me tonight.

Hey now... It's a feel good thread after a good game. Although I haven't been very cynical of 'Pets, it's good to see him step up recently. Here's hoping he can keep his confidence up as the playoffs roll around.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) Strange how Lazerbeam has been gone since Ozzie came back. One Ozzie loss and bet he mysteriously appears again. Ozzie haters ready to get back on the bandwagon now? It isn't just the Kop issue that deserves some crow. Give another game or two of Flip. Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Hopefully Kopecky can keep up the production. It'd be nice to have a deep pool of players (Helm, Leino, Kopecky, etc.) to draw from in the playoffs. I'll give him the credit on producing. But man is he weak. Yet another nonsensical comment from you. In what manner on this earth does the adjective "weak" come to mind when referring to Tomas Kopecky?

Or better yet ,learn the game so you don't post such stupid comments in the future. Yeah you're right- Kopecky's produced like a point per game player many times in the past. Keep going Einstein- you're only making yourself look dumber. (Man I hope I can get into that hockey training course that teaches you to anticipate that a guy like Kopecky isn't a fringe player after putting up only 26 points and a 0+/- in 164 games on the Red Wings)
Doggy 130 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 He was millimetres away from another goal against uhhh... some team the other night. It's kind of a blur.

Yet another nonsensical comment from you. In what manner on this earth does the adjective "weak" come to mind when referring to Tomas Kopecky? He has yet to put pounds on his frame. He seems to be on the ice more often then not. And did you see him look like a rag-doll in front of the net on the powerplay? Eh, I really don't mean to rain on the parade, but it just seems to stick out to me I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but I just say what's on mind.

I have been a Koppy hater this year and he has looked a lot better... ...but come on with this Osgood stuff. He has had one good game and at least ten or more bad games. I am still not feeling great about him. The DEF played very well tonight and Ozzie stopped what he needed to and even made a few good saves... the jury is still out. All that said, I hope and pray he proves me wrong. I want Ozzie to catch fire and get on another Stanley Cup run. edit: spelling Edited March 4, 2009 by scotzman

I don't understand the rationale behind getting on the people in a bad way.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Man I love not having crow taste in my mouth. Been defending him all season, but I didn't expect this kind of production from him this year, even if it is a hot streak.
Carman 387 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I'd rather we support the team no matter what. I don't understand the rationale behind getting on the people in a bad way. Generally a reaction so fans feel as if they have some sort of 'input' or 'say' over an organization. If they end up being right about the said player they feel they contributed and a sense of accomplishment that makes up for their short comings in everyday life. Also humans are wired in a negative way mentally. Therefore most people focus on negative things in order to improve rather then positive things just how humans are. Booster313 138 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I think it is WAY to early to make a judgement on Kopy or Ozzie, but since we are so quick to jump on them when they screw up we might as well me equally quick to jump on them when they do a great job!
Mors 201 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I'm happy for his sudden surge in production...but don't get it twisted, he's gonna have to keep up his progress before I admit any error in my previous statements about him.

My guess is that kopy was playing with emotion due to hossa's injury, and babcock played into it.... Kopy being on the ice at that time (during special teams play) is evidence of it. sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I ate some crow already in the game thread -- but when I am wrong, I have no problem eating crow again -- which is what I'll do right now. That said, I hope he can keep this up, obviously I don't expect him to have 3 point nights every night, but he seems to have had a fire lit under him the last couple of games. But as Mick always says (usually more about other teams youngsters IE: CBJ's goalie Mason) it takes more then a couple games to build a carreer.

Ozzie haters ready to get back on the bandwagon now? It isn't just the Kop issue that deserves some crow. Give another game or two of Flip. Ozzie defenders will never win on this forum - even if he plays spectacular games from here on out. Why? Any solid play will be attributed to the defense while any goals given up will be Ozzie "falling back into his slump". It's lose/lose.
