Yzerman191 37 Report post Posted March 20, 2009 Great accomplishment by a great player. Any bets as to what he'll finish his career at?
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted March 20, 2009 Great accomplishment by a great player. Any bets as to what he'll finish his career at? Well, let's say he scores at a rate of 55 per season until he's 35, and then drops off 10 goals a year every year after that and plays until he's 40 (even though that may not be accurate). That would come out around 1000 goals. There's no way to really know, though.
Yzerman191 37 Report post Posted March 20, 2009 I don't think it's a stretch at all to expect at least 50 a year until he's 32 or 33. He could very well end his career in the top ten goal scorers of all time.

Congrats to Ovechkin though. Such an amazing and talented player to watch. I too can't wait to see where he finishes this season. Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) That was the worst goal celebration I have seen since Avery's pushup act. He scored a s***ty goal on a 1 on 3 that McKenna should have stopped, and he acts like that?? He looked like an idiot - even his teammates, who apparently helped him think of the celebration, didn't want to join in. Not to mention doing it all right beside the net of a rookie goaltender on one of the worst teams in the NHL. Well done. Nicholonio 9 Report post Posted March 20, 2009 A goal is a goal whether it's s***ty or not. With the coverage we got here in Michigan, I missed the celebration.
Wingsallwin 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2009 I saw one statement in yahoo blog that criticizes or doubts the possibility or responsibility that Ovie should be the mvp by his inconsistency. I never watched full Caps games so I don't know but Malkin has more points. Do you guys think Ovie deserves the mvp with the inconsistency according to the writer? TheOwl 77 Report post Posted March 20, 2009 I would take Swedens top line over Canada's, Zetterberg-Alfredsson-Backstrom. Crosby sucks, you guys think way too highly of him. I'm Canadian, and I don't see why anyone thinks team Canada is the favorite.

I'm Canadian, and I don't see why anyone thinks team Canada is the favorite. You're using a personal bias to try and argue that a player is or isn't good. That isn't credible at all. I really hate to get into this again, but Crosby is the most complete hockey player in the world. Anyways, Alfredsson is on that slippery slope downward in his career. Not nearly as effective as he once was. Canada will be able to ice a roster that's has depth beyond imagination. Guys like Vinny Lecavalier, Getzlaf, Heatley, Spezza, St. Louis, Savard, Morrow, Nash, Carter, Staal, Richards (Mike), Doan, Marleau, Little are all better than most teams can muster up on the top lines, and a handful of those I just listed will have to be left off the team. That's not even getting into the old guard of guys like Ryan Smyth, Sakic, Gagne. Edited March 20, 2009 by MacK_Attack
