4/5 GDT: Wild 2 at Red Wings 3

I don't really like to get into goaltending discussions here, because the focus on goalies is embarrassing on this board. But the guy everyone is singing the praises of here today, Backstrom, just let in the go ahead goal on an unscreened wrist shot with less than a minute to go.

PERSPECTIVE.

You're on the right track. However, for these nutcases, they're only focused on Osgood and how great the opposing goalie is. They're overlooking that this team is going into the playoffs. Barring some miracle, the Wild fantastic goalie's team is not.

If, if, if, if. How about let's look at reality. The Wings cannot afford Backstrom. The Wings have a TEAM that consists of things more than one player. And no, you're not complaining because anything regarding the playoffs. You've been bitching all season long about enforcers and goalies. You're a malcontent who wants his team the way you want it and if you can't have your little "iffy" perfect world team, you whine. And you shouldn't be surprised that when you piss all over a playoff team that fans here actually enjoy watching, rather than getting crapped all over by someone who calls himself a fan, you're going to get crap in return for it.

Actually, everything I say has to do with the playoffs. I just have a hard time seeing this type of play translate into playoffs success. Both from goaltending and the lack of toughness. It hasn't done so in the past. But once again, you had to mention how you're a real fan and I'm not. Just some more Shoreline crap for us all to read.

Nonono, that's ok. You see, it's because his name isn't OSGOOD.

Or CONKLIN.

Or he's at least not wearing a red sweater.

The shot was pretty lethal, to be fair, although I'm also one of the ones who gives Ozzie a lot of rope with which to hang himself.

Good game Red Wings.

But the Wings need Backstrom! They'd have the President's trophy!

Wings win!!!

Yes. And all goals that trickle through Osgood's legs after he turns the puck over are the result of defensive breakdowns.

So if a goalie gives up a goal, it needs to go straight in. If it hits any part of the goaltender and goes in, it's a bad goal...

Not sure if you watched this season, but when the puck comes off the stick of Marian Hossa, that is quite often the case.
