Winger19 4 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 Send us your Stanley Cup parade route This can only reek of bad karma. Yeah, the city and their fans are pumped for making it out of the first round in 4 straight, something that had never been done in Canucks history. They still have 12 hard wins to get. hockeytown9321 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 There was a Vancouver writer on the after 40 minutes segment the day after Vancouver went up 2-0 against the Red Wings in 2002. Not only did he state without hesitation that the Red Wings would bw swept, he was seriously talking about where the parade route would be. I laughed. Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 There is some bad juju swirling around Vancouver now. Not even the magic of the Floyd could save them now.

Winger19 4 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 This all but ensures a sweep of the Canucks in the next round. I would love nothing more than that. Knock all the canucks fans down a peg or two.
LeftWinger 5,154 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 I either hope SJ comes back and beats ANaheim so We can play Vancouver next, or I hope they make it to the WCF so we canplay them then! Either way, Vancouver, Luongo, you are in for a rude awakening if you think one round makes you Stanley Cup Champions!

TheOwl 77 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 God I hate the Canucks. Without Luongo they'd be bottom dwellers like Colorado. And you best believe if Vancouver falls in the second round, no matter how good Luongo plays, he'll be blamed by every Vancouver sports writer. What bugs me even more is living in this town, being a Detroit fan. I mean seriously, I was a Canuck fan until Bure left, and became a Detroit fan when Hasek joined. I think it's retarded when people cheer for a team, regardless who's on it. I cheer for the team because I like the players on the team. Doesn't that make a lot more sense then cheering for the team closest to you? How could anyone not be a Detroit fan? Great offense, great defense but not a trapping team. Detroit relies on every area of the game to succeed, Vancouver relies on Luongo alone. Boring hockey, so why should I cheer for them just because I live in Vancouver? akustyk 84 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) dump. way to jinx the team and bring bad karma. you do avoid touching Presidents Trophy for a reason. same as you breath a relief after Mullet picks Avs (err.... someone else than Wings) or Maggie the Monkey does pick us don't mess with the dark side of the force, padawans! Not only did he state without hesitation that the Red Wings would bw swept, he was seriously talking about where the parade route would be. I laughed. I loved the story about how when the Wings landed in Vancouver, some fans had a beater car all decked out in Nuck stuff and were hanging out the windows with brooms a wavin' and horn honking and chased the Wings' bus all the way from the airport to downtown. Apparently, the Wings sat and silently brooded the whole way... Well we know how that short story ended...
MaynardJKeenan 1 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 The Nucks are the only team that really scares me. I have a feeling they would beat us if we played them this year. I hope someone else takes them out. Luongo is a beast and they have a great defense. The sisters always play good against us too. I just hope someone else takes them out. Plus, they are probably the most boring team in hockey to watch.
hokike 1 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Obviously this "event", I mean a parade "drawing" seems to be little funny entertainment. Nutting serious. I'm not only one noticing that in this case some Red Wings fans overreact, not the others. Overreacting - in this case trying to make something from irrelevant. Plus, they are probably the most boring team in hockey to watch. The Canucks have never scared me. They have a good team this year, but outside of the Sedins and Luongo I cannot really name anyone else on it.... Luongo is a good goalie, but he's only played in 16 PO games his entire career including this year. This is only his second time making it to the second round. He hasn't established himself as a goalie to fear in the POs. Plus, how much can one make out of sweeping the Blues?

Either way, Vancouver, Luongo, you are in for a rude awakening if you think one round makes you Stanley Cup Champions! Brace yourself. A lot of formerly terrible teams are in the playoffs this year, and they're all pertty excited for winning a few games in the playoffs. They think winning a game or a series means they'll win it all. To most of these teams the playoffs is usually only a round long anyways.

MaynardJKeenan 1 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Yeah.....take him lightly. That'll work out well. Yeah because if a fan of the Wings takes another teams goalie lightly if will affect the outcome of the series. I guess it's true what they say about most Laughs fans. I do feel bad for leafs fans though for real, such a good hockey market that's been down and now they hire Burke, I don't think that's going to end well. Seriously though, I don't care how many po games Lou has played, he is a beast. I know the Wings will not take him lightly and having Homer and Mule will help alot, but that team scares the heck out of me.
