ESPN's Buccigross Det Ana Series Prediction

i'm not sure how that's "unreal." the comments on lids and raffi are a bit suspect, but honestly, if you've only caught a bit of nick's playing this year it wouldn't be that hard to claim that it's gone down hill a bit, probably because of age. hell, i think that even with his stellar second half, you can still see him aging a bit. rafalski's problems don't stem from his age, but he certainly has them.

and osgood will certainly have to be stellar. if he starts letting in soft goals from their third and fourth line, we're cooked.

seems like a pretty reasonable analysis to me, especially since he picked the wings to win it on home ice.

The age thing pissed me off.

again, it might not be from *age* specifically, but the defense has certainly had it's problems this year. you can argue the cause, but that's a simple one to latch on to. even if he's wrong about the cause, he's right about the effect.

OMG!!!! He didn't pick the Wings to win 15-0, 16-0, 14-3, and 14-3!!!! Not the best analysis, but wasn't horrible either. Ozzie will have to be good and the defense did look shaky in the regular season, though it had nothing to do with age.

I can agree with most things there except Selanne, yeah he has alot of speed but he was off in the Sharks series he needs to step up, and as a Ducks fan I think this series is pretty even but I will say I think these two are the best in this years playoffs and wish this was the Stanley Cup matchup because that's how both teams will have to play. Ducks in 6 of course because they are my first team and Detroit after.

Good luck to you Wings though to.

From a Ducks fan.

I'm shocked, shocked I say that he didn't bring up how old Chelios is as well!

How dare he ignore his holy grandpa-ness? Doesn't he know that if someone doesn't mention how old Chris Chelios is every ten minutes everyone in the whole world forgets?

yawn...

so he thinks some of Wings players are aged. well, they are.

I personally don't see this as a valid point against Det chances

but it's just my opinion...

get some life...

So, is this your prediction or wish? My wish is 4-0 Detroit but my predtion is 4-2 Detroit. See?

Also, I don't think Ducks are as good as Bruins or Caps. Look at the rosters. Also, Hiller is a rookie - he will be broken sooner or later.

also once again NICKLAS BACKSTROM gets no love from anyone. he is a low key swede but watch out he is just a genius and a great two-way player. very slick passer has 7 assists. he has no goals but he doesnt take any stupid shots, he has had some good chances lundqvist was just good. this writer seems like he is only looking at statistics and has never seen an nhl game. jonas hiller is a question mark, although he has looked good? he was incredible idk what this guy is eating... his own fesces by the look of it

i really dont understand what the problem is. the guys (i know this is nothing new) are old and as someone said above, this season detroits defense was not the greatest. its not like bucci said pronger is a far more intelligent and all around more skilled defenseman than chris pronger. hell the guy even picked the wings to win and 7 games is definitely a possibility.

The issue I can find with his article (which suggest this author is a bit out of the loop) is he talks about how deep Ducks are in Defense, but fails to mention our boy Ericsson who has been nothing less than stellar.
