I guess I'm the only one here, but I still think Brown's hit was legal. It was hard and nasty, but I don't really have a problem with it. Huds had barely taken a stride before he was knocked. He has to keep his head up during instances like that. I hope he's alright, but I'm probably pretty upset about that penalty if I'm a Ducks fan.

wow.................... it was a play away from the puck, plus it was a direct hit to the head! how is that legal. the NHL has specifically made rules to protect players from hits like that!

you sir dispoint me

Wow, the reactions on Versus and CBC could not be more different on the Brown hit. Jones is all pissed on Versus while all the guys on CBC agree that it was a clean hit.

It's certainly up for interpretation, but in my opinion Hudler was responsible for making it look so bad.

Personally don't think Brown's hit was nearly as bad as Brashear's but seeing it again he should likely miss more than tonight's game, that's for sure.

Had nothing to do with whether his head was down or not. It was the fact that the puck was long gone is the issue. Brown raised his arm and got him right in the head. Head down or no, you don't take shots to somebody's head, with or without the puck.

It was a headshot, and it was nowhere near the puck. How that that NOT be a penalty?!

And Pronger smiles about it.

Yeah, did you see that smirk? That piece of s*** was still doing it heading back to the bench.

I cannot tell you how much I want to see him break something. On his own body, of course.

Wasn't really impressed with the first period overall. Wings seemed to come on a bit late but there is some obvious rust out there. Need to bring the body more (was much better late in the period) and stay on their assignments. Anaheim should've made it 2-0 if it weren't for that goalmouth whiff.

Osgood really looked to be fighting the puck early. The Wings need more shots, less cute stuff (looking at you Datsyuk and Hossa). Get those pucks on net, etc., etc..

I think they'll get their legs back and get better as the game wears on here. No mistakes!

I can agree with that. Hudler was admiring his pass. Regardless if the hit was legal or not you never do that.
