Sucks that Wiz was injured, he's one of the few ducks I actually rather like and respect, I do hope nothing is wrong with him and he can continue to play soon

just a quick word. Cannot wait to hear the clucks fans call me crybaby, but if we are gonna loser, lets lose fair, ok? Bull garbage call on Stuart, then right before the goal Getlaf two hands Osgood on the blocker, no call. Did it bother Osgood? Probably not, did it hurt, you can't hurt a goal these days, BUT it is a penalty! You cannot slash ANYONE in that matter, let alone a goalie trying to make a save. POOR POOR POOR officiating! Just to show that I am not biased when it comes to officiating, Prongers penalty was garbage too. I'd be just as mad if it were called on us... oh wait, there has been plenty of garbage calls on us. Officiating sucks, Colin Cambell sucks, ashamed to admit he is a former Red Wings Ass. Coach. You suck Soupy!

Scratch that. FSD replay shows pretty clearly it's the shot hitting him in the chest that's the issue. Looks like it's definitely a broken rib(s) + punctured lung. He's on the way to the hospital via ambulance now. Probably pretty safe to say he's done.

Well.....still should have been a penalty on the elbow. It was a pretty solid one.

I hate to say this, as I wish the best for Wiesnewski and hope he comes back for game 4, but we need to capitalize on them being down a defenseman. They only use 5 to begin with *and* we didn't get called for a pretty easy call that lead to us keeping a PP where we scored.

We need this.

GJM at Mlive.com says John Keating has reported that Wisniewski had blood in his mouth following taking a shot in the ribs and is going to the hospital.

Damn! I hope he's all right!

That elbow didn't look that serious upon second look. The scary thing was the shot to the ribs, but he was definitely bleeding from the mouth?? maybe injuries from both the shot and the elbow? Either way hope he is ok.

If its his jaw, the only way you get blood that dark is if he bit the s*** out of his tongue.

this isn't quite accurate. Outside of sliced arteries (Clint Malarchuk), two types of facial injuries cause blood to gush, making the blood appear darker. Broken jaws and broken noses. I would bet that the puck hit him in ribs or arm where his pads were weak or not there, causing some type of broken rib or deep bruise, and then his jaw was broke by the inadvertant (maybe?) elbow by Holmstrom.

I really hope Wiz (and I say that because I cannot spell his name) is okay. I would never wish a serious injury on another player. For those of you saying that it's "good" or you hope he's out the rest of the series, etc.. imagine if that were one of OUR players? How would you feel if the Ducks fans were saying that?

It's classless. I know we're all very passionate about the Wings, but it's a game. Be smart enough to not wish harm on someone over a game.

Best wishes to Wiz. I sincerely hope there's nothing serious.

That would just be really really bad luck right there...

If you end up with a rib fracture that causes a spontaneous pneumothorax, thats level one trauma and by definition his life is at risk. Adding the spitting up blood *assuming he didn't get a few teeth knocked loose* is VERY VERY serious. He's done. You can't play hockey with a chest tube.

I didn't realize blood changed shades depending on where its coming out of you.

It depends on how much oxygen is in the blood, and that depends on at what stage the blood is in your circulatory system. Blood near your heart is bright red because it is oxygen rich.

Well I am not one to stereotype........

aww feck it, yes I am. :) In typical, moronic so-cal style, the ignoramuses over there want to start crying over the "phantom call" on Niedermayer.....failing to notice the whole stick in Homer's mid-section, parallel to ice thing that the league has been calling since, oh day 1 of the season. So that's a phantom call yet they conveniently forget the utter bulls*** call on Stuart that led to their 2nd goal.

In my opinion, it's almost even. We got a s***ty call and they scored. They got a legitimate call and we scored. move along.

And for the record, any West Coasters who are Wings fans get a reprieve from being lumped in with the dumb s***, know nothings out there.

It does. Blood is darker the more oxygenated it is.

Best wishes for Wiz. Never want to see a guy get hurt like that, especially a guy from Michigan.

Anyway, can we please stay out of the penalty box? If we don't take any stupid penalties, we might be able to get something together in the 3rd.

Let's also hope the different line combos stick around for a while.

Bright red blood usually is coming from an artery because it's saturated with oxygen. Dark red blood is not, and therefore is coming from a vein.
