Simple question to the Wings faithful:(no need to explain or rationalize,just a pop quiz)

Do you take out Maltby and substitute Leino?

Yes or no? :thumbup::thumbdown:

(don't worry about lines and juggling for now,just make the change or not?)

OK,if you want to justify your answer,go for it!

With Abedlkader IN, yes. With Kopecky IN instead of Abdelkader, no

No way in hell.

Maltby is a veteran of the playoffs with 4 cup wins under his belt.

Leino has played only a couple of regular season NHL games......total.

Let's bring him up next year to get some seasoning.

He's not ready for the NHL playoffs yet.....and Maltby has been fine.

I think Leino should play game 5, the 4th line so far has been outstanding with Helm. Putting Leino with Abdelkader and Helm would be a tough line to defend for the ducks, because they are very quick skaters especially on the good ice in Detroit. In SoCal you go back to Maltby.

Actually, I had hoped and figured it would be Kopecky that would be replaced by Leino. Maltby crossed my mind as a possible doorway in for Ville but watching him play a good veteran game, you want to keep him in there. If Abdelkader stiffs, they should go to Leino next game. Leino impressed in his heartbeat in the NHL with his scoring touch and penchant for winning puck battles.

No, he would serve as the perfect Hudler replacement, not a 4th liner; if he's brought up, it would be beneficial to get him more playing time because he seems like a guy who would score for us.

:lol: Yeah- you better replace the 3rd best puck handling/passing forward on the team.

Leino is a first or second line style of player but the Wings don' t have any readily available spots there.

Maltby (when he's on his game and he has been on his game such as it is) is suited to be the 4th liner where the spot would be open.

So No.
