Gnredwing 10 Report post Posted May 10, 2009 Although Datsyuk didnt score, he looked real good today. At times he was stickhandling and keeping the puck from the whole ducks team. It sucks he still didnt score, but atleast he is playing well, soon enough the pucks will go in.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted May 10, 2009 I don't know, I was thinking the scoring drought is starting to get to him and he'd developing a tendency to rush the play, but I did notice him develop some chances out there at least.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) Well, he isn't being a liability, and him keeping it in the zone helps. Sometimes players go through scoring slumps, and Dats is in a slump. I'm not gonna be complaining too much until it causes the Wings to lose. I really hope he can get out of that slump though. Hate to think how this series would be if he was putting pucks into the net. Might not be this exciting. Edited May 10, 2009 by Shoreline
Guest Four Report post Posted May 10, 2009 Agreed, he is playing phenomenal despite his lack of scoring. He's bound to get one soon though.
NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted May 10, 2009 I agree he's in a slump offensively, but he seems to be reacting positively by playing even harder, as opposed to getting off of his game. Very solid for him. And I liked how towards the end you could tell that Zetterberg was trying to set him up with a goal.
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted May 10, 2009 Datsyuk has been dominant and playing great, he is just snake-bitten, as bad as any player i've ever seen. Playing out of his mind at times, and just nothing is going in for him. Gotta feel for the guy.

It sucks he still didnt score, but atleast he is playing well, soon enough the pucks will go in. It sucks that he's not scoring, but we all know he's the greatest player on this team (well, some people say Zettberg so let's agree that they're basically two halves of the same entity anyways). As long as he stops the Ducks from getting the puck or scoring, I'll be happy with his performance. Some dominating, awe-inspiring goals would just be icing on the cake. The guy carried this team all year, after all.
Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted May 10, 2009 Pavs is one of the few players on this team I don't worry about.
waitahochiminute 2 Report post Posted May 10, 2009 That flick over the net play he tried shows alot of creativity. He hasn't scored but boy is he making it happen!

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 He's playing as hard as anyone, but like I've said many times, his job is to score and not just to play hard. He's not a 4th liner who we can all applaud just for effort. I remember the announcers saying that he was 12th on the team in scoring. That's unacceptable, and he's lucky other guys on this team are scoring, or else he'd be blamed if this team already got eliminated, much like he did many seasons ago in 2004 and 2006. titanium2 867 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 He's not just playing hard. He's creating chances. The puck just isn't going in the net. It'd be best for him if he didn't put any needless pressure on himself becauses that's when he'd really screw up.

Best game of the playoffs imo
Wingman 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 The team needs for him to start scoring sooner or later, and he knows that more than anyone. In the meantime he's doing pretty much everything else flawlessly.
Antilles328 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 He's not scoring because he's lazy and he sucks. Oh wait, did you say Datsyuk? I heard Getlazf. Datsyuk? Datsyuk is doing everything except score.

redwashington2000 42 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 (edited) When Pasha is on the ice at least 2 D men are concentrated on him sometimes 3 D on him, so with this said give the guy a break, he is making the plays out of nothing, and the Demolition men should be moved from this line, when he have the puck he is losing it 80% of the time. drfnr14 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 i will agree dats played his best game of the season. it just seems like hes not getting lucky/chances. hes playing like hes the best out there"like he should" but just cant seem to score. even on the empty net zets tried to fish him the puck but just missed. dats is due for like 10 goals and like i said before hill explode when we need him!!!! Wingsallwin 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 I think Datsyuk played pretty well but he still has to bury some shots. He made some unbelievable shifts and dangles but he did not get any final result. It is still good to see he picked up one point and ZDH line will come up big soon.
jollymania 162 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 he is just proving why he is better than ovechkin or malkin, even if he is nonexistent in the goal department he is still a defensive force
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 he is just proving why he is better than ovechkin or malkin, even if he is nonexistent in the goal department he is still a defensive force Yeah, Malkin has had several games in the playoffs where he's just been absolutely invisible except for making mistakes every now and then. Atleast Pavel is doing some good things even if he's not scoring. In this game he had some really, really great shifts, and did almost everything right except scoring. And that's where the good things about having tons of depth come in, even if one of our top players are being kept off the scoreboard, we can still win the game. The Ducks aren't winning if Getzlaf doesn't have atleast 3 points.
Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 We'd all like to see Pavs start scoring, but I'd rather him do everything else right than do everything else wrong PLUS not score. He's never been a liability, even when he slumps. Of all the things the Wings need to concentrate on for any future playoff series we're in this year, Pavs is not one of them. Kira 451 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 I am not worried about Pasha. I know in my heart he's due, and he's trying everything he can think of to make something happen. But when you have two and three guys all over you like fleas on a dog, you can't expect to make miracles happen. I know he's due, and I have a feeling when he finally snaps out of this blue funk, he's gonna be lights out. Just keep doing what you're doing, sweetie...it will come to you in time. Outsider 42 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 I have to personally apologize to Pavel. Early in the game, it looked like he was overwhelmed. He got better as the game wore on and was his usual self, (i.e. an absolute force out there.)
