BlakKy 58 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 Not quite sure where this topic belongs but... I was just wondering if anyone knows if any of the Wings use twitter. I know its getting really popular with athletes.

jeff48109 474 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 there are a lot of fake twitter accounts. i think one of the managers in Major League Baseball is actually suing twitter because someone created an account posing as him and posted some not very nice things
Booster313 138 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 I feel as though I am getting old, first it was Myspace...so I eventually got one of those, then myspace became so "last week" so I got a facebook, not it seems as though twitter is the new in thing.
Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 I use Twitter a bit, I've never seen any Wings players on there when I've done my searching for buddies. I'll check again and see what I can come up with but I doubt there is anything real. I have a few Fake Wings players as Buddies on Facebook and MySpace and I have a couple of actual current Griffins and older NHL players on Facebook. You're welcome to follow me on twitter, My address is twitter.com/DetRbkGoalie.
Peadydog 98 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 I was follwing Ozzie and Datsyuk during playoffs. I have no idea if it was really them. Ozzie only posted 2 tweets, right at the beginning of the first round. Datsyuk posted frequently, and it was pretty funny at times ("Why does Hank insist we wear matching ties to the rink?"), but I doubt it was really him. Anyway, Ozzie is still listed, Datsyuk has disappeared.
HadThomasVokounOnFortSt 878 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 Twitter seems kinda pointless, and I don't think any real players do. I will admit though that I have on myspace Sydney Crosby as my friend. I talked to him all the time about what the NHL is like.

Yzermania19 1 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 I don't know how reliable it is, but I found this on Twitter - supposed to be a listing of NHL Tweeters: NHL Players on Twitter
BlakKy 58 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 I don't know how reliable it is, but I found this on Twitter - supposed to be a listing of NHL Tweeters: NHL Players on Twitter Checked out Havlat's. It's definitely real and pretty insightful. There are some pics of him and his dog and some pics from Prague. It's neat to see him being honest and admit that the Wings messed him up. He had to have a bunch of teeth repaired as well take some tme away from bright lights to help out his head. lol.
Theophany 110 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 Ovi uses twitter too (@ovi8), but he doesn't post tweets that often. You can check out who I'm following if you want some NHL stuff to follow (my Twitter account is @wkfink). @umassdilo/Michael DiLorenzo (NHL Director of Corporate Communications) is a frequent tweeter, he posted some pretty awesome backstage shots from the NHL Awards. @NHLTransactions is pretty good, shows transactions. I also follow some NHL bloggers, since I've found some pretty good stories from them. Twitter is mainly something I do when I get bored, I'm not nuts about it like some of my friends are (I used to work at Apple, so some of my friends are technuts).
