We won't score as many goals as last season, though I expect that a number of players will improve their statistics. Go be a Thrashers or Panthers fan. Low expectations are always met there. Amazing how spoiled people are. If you think they are gonna suck please don't watch. Wings sign two of their best players for $10mil total early in the year and only have 3mil to spend right now for basically 2 players and because they couldn't keep everyone and didn't run off to spend the money real quick, they are gonna suck. I said it before I feel like we're back to 05 where people here said March Denis was ready to be a starter and the Wings should trade for him. You are predicting doom and gloom, why? Because it is the easy way out! If you don't panic and stop s***ting your pants for a minute and realize that they still have one of if not the top D's in the league arguably better than last year with the addition of Big E. The top six is now missing one forward, yes one hell of a forward at that, but that is all they are missing, 1 forward. A small reworking of the top 6 to something like: ZDCleary Mule Flip Leino You have two very good lines, one is a shutdown line and needs a shutdown line to stop them, the other is a very good 2nd line with 2 PROVEN players and one with a ton of potential. The back 6 just got a lot weaker I will give you that, but they got better in different areas, they may not score as much as last years third line but a line of Helm Draper UFA (say Moen) and fourth Maltby UFA(Say Yelle) Homer Can be had and would be a damn good defense team. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Cleary, Filppula, Leino, Franzen, Helm, Draper, Maltby, Homer, Listrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, Stuart, Ericsson and Lebda as of right now with Osgood in net and this team is gonna be back to the 80's? Of the players you mentioned, only Hossa had any defensive responsibilities at all last season. Helm is going to step in and play the PK, so there's no loss there. Hank and Pavel will be fine. More defensive responsiblities for Hank and Pavel with only one two-way forward left of those 4 who did?
