I think with that same success they could've chosen Nikita Filatov over Artem Anisimov.

Kovalev - WILL NOT BE ON THE TEAM with his primadonna attitude, Bykov (head coach) just doesn't like him so I'll be very very surprised if he makes it.

Also I doubt that Khabi will play, he is getting old and after 2002 Olympics said that he won't play for "sbornaya"; so I'd say Bryzgalov will be on his spot.

I would say that Zubov would also be an interesting candidature if he is healthy and willing to play.

With those players something tells me that there will be an old-soviet style of "all attack" play; "You'll score us how much you can, we'll score how much we want!" :) But who knows if it materializes.

Canada.

Brodeur, Luongo.

Yeah those two and take your pick for you're third, that will still be a better goalie than most ppl's backup and some starters.

bring it! I'd love to see that style of play embarrass a few teams!

Both of them f***ed it up big time and their teams lost playoff series because of them. I'd say Sweden is gonna have the best goaltending.

Brodeur has three stanley cups and a gold medal in his resume.

Luongo has two World Championship gold medals and a World Cup gold.

I think that stands up nicely to Swedens goaltending.

Bykov yesterday told that even those invited to the Olympic camp won't be announced till 1 of August. The only thing he mentioned is that the ratio of NHL to KHL player will be around 60 to 40 percents.

Seems silly. I'd have guessed it'd be 90 to 10 percent. There must be political pressure to include more KHL players than comparative talent would dictate.

60-40? :S

This isn't world championship or big ice olympic, i think they should have about 90% nhl players..

I could see them inviting 60/40 NHL to KHL to camp, but they aren't going to leave out NHL stars to get KHL "stars" on the team. I wouldn't be surprised to see some guys from the KHL go to CAMP even if it's just to try and benefit their league there and try and gain some attention, but probably only a couple will make the squad.

I wouldn't agree. We shouldn't forget that in such a short tournament chemistry is very important. I remember Finns finished us (Russians) 4-0 in last Olympic quarterfinals. The only thing behind that was excellent chemistry between their lines and willingness to fight will the end in each and every moment of the game, something both Canada and Russia didn't have. So in such tournaments I would always prefer Morozov - Zinoviev - Zaripov (three guys you barely have heard about) over something like Ovechkin - Malkin - Radulov.

That is somewhat true since last time as far as I remember Krikunov was the coach and it made a BIG difference.

The whole "chemistry" and team approach changed with Bykov. I do agree that it is probably better to have lines that played together for a while (the old soviet system like), but at the same time Ovechkin-Malkin-Radulov or whoever is a better choice talent-wise. Also don't you remember how much penalties these Superleague players were taking since they used to an absolutely different game.

I believe that the team from 2010 won't be anything like team in 2006 and main factors are: team approach and work ethic.

PS I also think this is why Kovalev shouldn't be on the team.

I still think Luongo is a question mark with the money on the line, and although I respect Martin Brodeur's career both in the NHL and internationally, he'll be almost 38 next February, and with only two playoff series wins in the last five seasons. We're going to need a physical, punishing D in order to prevent rebounds or else we're not going to go very far.

These guys are in my top three teams to beat, and after looking at this roster of potential players, I still think they are going to be one of the teams to beat.
