WpgMikos 17 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 Ansar Khan reported that: After experiencing persistent headaches for eight months, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Andreas Lilja might have taken a significant step toward recovery with a recent visit to a Vancouver chiropractor. Lilja said his headaches have decreased considerably since he saw Don Grant for three days on the team's recent road trip. His return is not imminent, but he is much more optimistic now. "It’s unbelievable,'' Lilja said. "I’d been having headaches for eight months. Then, I see him for one day and headaches disappear for three days.’’ Lilja said there is no timetable for his return, but he has picked up the pace in practice. The next step is seeing how he reacts to contact. I said in NHH that a buddy of mine will be very happy to hear that a chiro was the source of his improved health, while another will groan at the news. While obviously they are going to take this slow and steady, anyone see him getting back pre Olympics? post Olympics? this season?
Guest Four Report post Posted November 6, 2009 I wish Lilja could come back, but I really do not see it as an option. Great news he's getting better though!

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 unfortunately, I think the title of this thread says it all. I got excited until I read it was three days and not weeks. It must be great relief to be headache free for three days after having one every day. I can't imagine how awful that must be. But to me it seems like his coming back at all is a longshot at this point, let alone this season, or by the olympics. I would love to be wrong though. puckbags 863 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 Man sure have things changed with Lilja around here...he used to be the whipping boy and now we are excited about him not having headaches for 3 days. I hope he gets well soon, we could us a big big body back there to block shots and kill penalties !
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 I wish Lilja could come back, but I really do not see it as an option. Great news he's getting better though! Once his headaches are gone it's definitely an option. He'll see the maximum time in GR for conditioning though, given that he hasn't played a game in like 6 months. But after missing his shot blocking skills in the playoffs last year, a lot of people began to realize that he wasn't as much of a liability as they thought he was. It's like the old song says, "you don't know what you got til it's gone".

stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 well, because it's just like real life, I re-activated Lilja around game 37 of the season after a 5 game reconditioning stint in NHL10... so I'm sure that's pretty accurate, haha
