Guest VAL FILPPULA Report post Posted November 29, 2009 Granted it is just a shootout goal, anyone else think this may be a big boost of confidence for him and we might see him finish?
RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 It means we give him a one or two day reprieve on LGW from 'Bertuzzi Sucks' posts. Seriously ... that's all it means.

thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 I hope it does, but I'mnot holding my breath. Carman, on the other hand, thinks it's evidence he's a Hall of Famer.

hokeychik22 17 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 finally a goal for bert, a win for the wings..too bad it wasnt a regulation win, but i'll take the win over a loss anyday. (even though i have issues against bertuzzi-personal matters after meeting once)
thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 Of course! HART TROPHY INCOMING. Sorry, his face-off percentage is too low...

Carman 387 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 No. He is going to continue sucking. Trust me. But he would have to have been "sucking" in the first place. He has been great.

DangleDangleBeach 16 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 i think you guys are pretty hard on bertuzzi here, its not like he makes the big bucks or like he was brought to detroit to 40 goals this year. he was brought in cheap to chip in some goals, provide some size, depth, and veteran leadership and it is as simple as that. bertuzzi has been doing the right things, he gets the most opportunities out of anybody on our team and with a little luck some of those can be goals... when you do the right things, good things tend to happen. want to rag on somebody? how about pavel datsyuk, the superstar with 6 goals in 23 games.... 6 mill a year? how about 6 goals a year. Icesurfer 75 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 When there is no one hounding him, checking him or making him hurry his shot he is fine....... unfortunately those conditions don't exist during the game. Because he is old, slow and no longer has the good hands, he simply will not be the player everyone is expecting. All it takes is one skater checking him and he turns the puck over immediately and NEVER gets it back..... you see it over and over and over again. And if fans can't see it they are blind. I have never seen a TOP line being this bad for this long... 5 on 5. At least he will get time on the shoot out....LOL. He will end up with about 12 goals..... far below what anyone expected. The Mule 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 Honestly? Not much. Simply put, he's NOT first-line material. Why is that relevant? He wasn't brought in to be a top-line player.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 Unfortunately, probably nothing... His last goal was bookended by the same snake-bitten play we're seeing now.

Pav is much more than just a goal scorer. He also has 13 assists. He's historically a slow starter. Are you saying that he will finish with 6 goals for the year? That's just stupid. chrisdetroit 189 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 Honestly? Not much. Simply put, he's NOT first-line material. He's only on the first line because of injuries. Fil will be back soon and he will be on the first line with Pav. Bert will move back to the 3rd or 4th where he belongs. First line is a stretch for Fil but he has chemistry with Pav and we don't have alot of other ooptions until Mule comes back.
