Can't decide who to get on my Jersey!

Is it an authentic or a knock off? I was going to buy one from dhgate but they all have different lengths from the stripe to the name/winterclassic patch... I don't know which one is closest to the originals...

Looks as real as can be, comes with tags, tie down strap, Reebok, Made in Canada, Datsyuk spelled right ...

If you want a Winter Classic jersey, get one from SportsK. You're going to end up paying more than $100 for one that looks real anyway; you might as well get an official one (since they're $98 there).

Pretty much 98% of the Winter Classic Jerseys on eBay and various places are knockoffs that are really terrible.

But its 160 bucks to get a name and number on it.

I don't mind paying 100+ for my jerseys anyway... I figure I will get a ton of use out of it so they are worth it.

Are the ones for sale on SportsK any different than the ones sold on NHL.com and other places for much more money?

Also, can anyone tell me if there's a difference in how the authentics and replicas fit? I tried a replica on today and wasn't terribly thrilled with the quality, but it wasn't horrible either. Also, are the authentics made of a different material? Will the "fight strap" on the authentic one get in the way of wearing the jersey as clothing?

Can someone post a pic of the fight strap?

You can see it through the jersey; it's basically a thick strap of material that has two snaps on it with velcro.

Authentics and replicas fit about the same, but authentics are made with much better material (they're exactly the same as the jerseys that the players wear). Authentics have a different sizing system, though. CCM authentics are different than the RBK authentics.

SportsK sells stuff they get directly from Reebok (and CCM, because Reebok owns them), so they're exactly the same as the stuff you'd get from NHL.com.

I've been emailing back and forth with the guy from SportsK and based on our convos, I've decided to go with the replica jersey (even the guy selling them says he'd rather have the cheaper one).

I'm going with a Franzen home Red!

The cheaper ones are nice because they're...cheaper. I like having one authentic, though, especially since mine is a Winter Classic.

If you get a premium jersey customized from SportsK, they're almost impossible to tell from the authentic jerseys unless you notice the back; there's stitching for the fight strap that shows on the back of the jerseys.

For anyne with an Authentic, does the fight strap annoy you while you're wearing it? Could the FS be removed?

I honestly don't notice the fight strap.

Not really, unless you have a problem with people that have Howe, Delvecchio, Abel, etc on jerseys instead of sweaters.

If the jersey directly translates to the era it represents then it is fine. Personally I've never been a fan of Howe jerseys because the majority of people who wear the jersey never actually saw the guy play. Also did Howe ever have his name on the back of his jerseys?

Yzerman also never wore the RBK edge style Wings jersey, despite the similarities to the CCMs.

So it's ridiculous for kids now to get Gretzky, Messier, etc on their Oilers (or Kings/Rangers) jerseys, despite never having seen them play?

Sorry, you're sounding a little too much like a whiny snob. It's one thing to have a problem with people putting ridiculous crap like 'Stanley Cups' on the back of jerseys, but it's quite another to take issue with fans that want to respect the history of their team.

Just because a player didn't play in the appropriate era doesn't mean that it's a jersey foul to get their name put on a jersey, especially for someone like Stevie Y, who has had such a tremendous impact on the organization as a whole.

Even more when you consider that the RBK have very few things that are dissimilar, when compared to the old CCM/Koho jerseys.

I want a Franzbeg jersey....

wouldnt that go against your thoughts on jerseys? No such player ever wore that jersey in that style or era ;)

If the kid didn't see them play, what makes them such a fan?

I'm not a snob. I'm just straightforward with what I prefer in a jersey, and also it is considered a jersey foul to certain people despite you disagreeing.

I would definitely steer clear of Zetterberg jerseys, though, if you want to actually stand out. Same thing with Yzerman jerseys.

I don't care how many of them are out there, you can never go wrong with an Yzerman jersey.

Because there aren't any current Oilers that are worth getting on their jersey?

Seriously though, I guess we just have a difference of opinion about what constitutes a jersey foul.
